By a lot of accounts he is a bit of a workaholic. Supposed to be more or less the first one in the training centre in the morning and the last one out.

So I think that the idea of him going stir crazy without work makes sense.

Someone else, (I think it was Bryan) said a couple of months back that for Levy the status of being in charge of Spurs is probably just as important as the money. He has made his name by being our chairman. He's a well connected head honcho in the Premier League and even got to serve on the ECA board for a bit.

Stuff like that is probably going to be extremely hard for him to let go of.
Making sure everyone is putting their £1 into the tea/coffee donation jar... it's called an honest jar but I image Levy counting tea bags and measuring the coffee jar, then reconciling it with the money left in the donation jar... if it's out, he will set up a sting in order to catch Maddison attempting to fleece the club out of a Latte. Maddison's wage bill the follow week:

Football £170,000.00
Adjustments - £1.00
Net Earnings - £169,999.00
Tax - £62,702.55
NI - £6,164.58
Gross Earnings £101,131.87

Watched a few Spurs YouTube channels today , they’re all saying that traffic on their videos have plummeted. I know this doesn’t affect ENIC one bit but I wonder if they’re aware of it . People appear to be losing interest

The Matt Law article.

Tottenham Hotspur are facing the prospect of having to sell to buy this summer, despite the fact the club could spend over £200 million without breaching profit and sustainability rules(PSR).

Without a significant injection of cash from owners Enic, Spurs are facing a tough summer of trading which is threatening to severely affect the club’s head coach – whether that is Ange Postecoglou or a new appointment.

Spurs are 16th in the table and equalled their record for 19 Premier League defeats in a single season with their latest loss against champions Liverpool at Anfield.

Champions League qualification through winning the Europa League would improve the situation, but Atletico Madrid target Cristian Romero or at least one other leading player may have to be sold to generate transfer funds.

Tottenham were one of the Premier League’s highest spenders last summer. And according to the last set of accounts that were first broken down by The Athletic, the club’s net transfer debt – money owed to Spurs minus money they are still to pay out – was £279.3 million.

That puts the club and those responsible for trying to improve the squad in an incredibly difficult position, particularly coupled with Tottenham’s wage structure which is one of the strictest in Europe.

A well-placed source confirmed to Telegraph Sport that the club will most likely have to sell to buy this summer, which will raise question marks over the futures of a host of players including Romero, Richarlison and Yves Bissouma.

Enic provided £122.1 million in owner funding since their 2001 takeover to June 2024, the equivalent of just £5.3 million per season. The majority of that came from a £97.5 million share issue in May 2022, which had initially been announced as being worth up to £150 million.

Since Enic’s £97.5 million share issue, a total of 13 English clubs received more owner funding, while the owners of Tottenham’s rivals Aston Villa have poured over £600 million into the club since their takeover in 2018.

Enic did invest £35 million into the club in January, but under-fire chairman Daniel Levymade it clear that Tottenham will not spend money they do not have, despite their ability to do so within PSR guidelines.

In the last set of accounts, Levy said: “We cannot spend what we do not have, and we will not compromise the financial stability of this club – indeed, our off-pitch revenues have significantly supplemented the lower football revenues this year, testament to our diversified income strategy.”

Levy added: “Since opening our new stadium in April 2019, we have invested over £700 million net in player acquisitions. Recruitment remains a key focus, and we must ensure that we make smart purchases within our financial means. I often read calls for us to spend more, given that we are ranked as the ninth-richest club in the world. However, a closer examination of today’s financial figures reveals that such spending must be sustainable in the long term and within our operating revenues. Our capacity to generate recurring revenues determines our spending power.”

Tottenham supporters will hold their fourth major protest against Enic and Levy at the club’s next home league game against Crystal Palace on May 11. The “Change for Tottenham” group has organised another pre-match march and is also urging supporters to take part in an in-stadium demonstration.

Change for Tottenham wants supporters to wear yellow to the game and delay returning to their seats at the start of the second half to visibly signal their dissatisfaction at the running of the club.
Matt Law is a Chelsea fan and therefore a complete and utter cunt who's articles should be used for the litter tray and nothing more.

That's not true, though. Levy owns 30% of ENIC. Lewis has appointed 2 solicitors who oversee him at Tottenham. Levy doesn't have the ability to dictate the amount of funds at his disposal.

Does he have materially differing ideas on how the club should be run? Maybe, maybe not, no one on an internet forum will likely ever know.

Replacing Levy under ENIC likely wouldn't accomplish anything - the next chairman would likely have the same brief.

Levy taking over the club from ENIC is unlikely to have any more success, either, but it is possible he would substantially change spending ratios.

We'll likely never test the former. IMO, the latter is the most likely ownership change.

The £142M under the stadium might as well not exist, as it's likely parked there as a requirement of the credit and other obligations for the stadium.

The £198M under TH Ltd is what we'll need to dip into in the summer. Since summer 2020, we've had net spends of -€100M, -€60M, -€140M, -€150M, -€120M.

We'll have another 9 figure net spend this summer, likely, and the wage bill will increase a fair bit undoubtedly.

Is it enough? Probably not. But a lot of the complaints about spending really don't hold up...old complaints warmed over with a new focus on wage:revenue ratio that skips over the reality that the drop in wage bill was a by product of intentionally culling deadwood.

I don't think there's much of a material difference between Levy, who owns a fair old chunk of ENIC (30% is quite a large bit of of a large pie) and ENIC itself. He's not just any old other employee.

I'd would be astonished if Joe Lewis and Daniel Levy had diametric opinions on how THFC are owned and operated. They wouldn't have stayed together so long otherwise.

I don't know - TBF to Levy he held a Spurs ST before he ever got involved in football. So this is in all likelihood a dream come true for him. He might think Lewis is a bit of a tight git, but why throw a strop and end up at QPR or something? Better to try and do the best you can while you can and hope that one day things roll your way and you can push the old man out and do whatever you like (probably the same thing - but maybe with a *bit* more free spending).

That's being generous to Levy, I think. Reality is somewhere in the middle. But Levy spends more time watching and actively involved in the football than any other chairman, he's clearly got a passion for it that some detractors habitually ignore. Hard to believe that's true and he's not somewhat displeased with Lewis' complete lack of concern for the club as anything other than an investment. If Levy shared Lewis' lack of enthusiasm I sincerely doubt he'd be bundled up in a plywood box at Tamworth in January.
