Match The Bodø Affair: The Mighty Tottenham vs Bodø/Glimt of Nordland - 2000hrs 1st May 2025 - UEFA Europa League Semi Final Leg 1

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I fancy us to turn up in this one. Forget everything that’s happened, the players know this is a serious chance at a European final and how many of those chances are some of these lot going to get in their careers - I’m expecting balls to the walls football and a decent win.

Just watching extended footage of them away against Lazio in the last round and it was no fluke. More concerningly, they are strong in areas we are vulnerable - fast on the break, work it out wide and quality crosses. Their attacking set pieces also look dangerous.

If Porro or Udogie get caught out of position they will punish us.

Farmers they ain't.
I bet their manager wouldn't say no.

In that regard, I think it's also fair to say we are here, so let's wait until we lose before we start citing so called good teams.

The irrefutable fact is that we are in a semi-final of the second (by far) European competition, and facing an opponent we should be capable of overcoming.

It's up to this wispy set of players to shut up the detractors.
Not even sure there are good teams.

If it's us Vs United in the final, that's two bottom 6 sides.
If PSG play Barcelona in the CL final, that's two actual champions.

yeah wont be anything like liverpool game or forest before that, it's quite clear they've all switched off when it comes to the league. Ange included

We must make tomorrow count. Make it a big, wide win, or else next week is very uncomfortable.
Heck, if we fill our boots early on, then we can take some players off and maybe not get spanked by Spam on Sunday. That'd be nice.

Which is a dangerous game to be playing though, it's not necessarily that simple to just switch on and off as you please.

The league games should be used to maintain form, fluidity, etc. And the repeated hammerings and embarrassments will take their toll on confidence, regardless of how much we tell ourselves it they don't matter, or the players aren't focused on the league anymore.

If you try to assume the view that say VDV/Romero won't suffer the confidence hit as they weren't involved, well maybe, but they also aren't maintaining match fitness for the "important" games either.

As for Ange, the manager that was so high and mighty about the City game last season, he has absolutely no excuse for doing so. Can he really claim to have not had his eye on the ball for Forest/Liverpool because he was beavering away doing his homework on Bodo?
