Match The Bodø Affair: The Mighty Tottenham vs Bodø/Glimt of Nordland - 2000hrs 1st May 2025 - UEFA Europa League Semi Final Leg 1

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Have a really bad feeling for the 2nd leg. We rarely keep clean sheets, they tore Lazio apart at their place. Maybe extra time or pens but can easily see them getting an early goal and sheer panic therafter. We really should have wrapped this up, 5 players missing, 1-0 up after minutes, 2-0 after 30 mins, should have buried them.

Yes, and we know that they are shite away, and a different ballpark at home.

We should be fine. We have the 2 goal advantage and they’ll have to come out. This team has far too much quality to worry about a 2 goal lead being overturned by Bodo fucking Glimt.

I get why people are worried, but barring an absolute Ange disasterclass, we should manage it. They have very little in the way of quality.

Here's a scary thought that kept me up last night...

For the first time in decades, maybe ever...we are favorites to win a trophy. We'd have to bottle from here in not to win it. We'd have to blow a big advantage or lose the final against an atrocious United.

In 2019 it took miracles against City, Ajax, and we were underdogs in the final. In our Carabao and Fa Cup runs, we've always lost to better teams in the semis or final.

This time, there is no scenario where we don't win this without a massive bottle job. Fuck me.

United are above us in the league, have been more impressive in the Europa (finished higher than us, beaten better teams) and have players in the team who know how to win silverware.

Why would we be favourites? The only thing in our favour is that our record against them this season is very good. But I imagine the odds will be evens at best.

The panic over being 2 goals up and having to play on an artificial pitch is embarrassing.

Yes, the tie isn’t over but you’d think we’re already out the way people are talking.

We're 90% in the final. All that's needed is an ounce of concentration and we're there.

Don't concede early, grab a goal (which we will, their defence has zero athleticism) and we're fucking fine.

The hyping up of the Bodo boogeyman has been embarrassing from the start. I said pre game - they're shite, they have one thing going for them. A Prem side who are only really playing for Europe should do them over two legs no trouble whatsoever.

We are not favourites
Man Utd are odds on to lift the trophy

Yes that's a fair point. Nevertheless, it's different than Liverpool or City in a cup final. Heck we haven't even been 50 50 in a final in forever.

The 2nd leg will be tough amend it could go either way. We could be missing 2 players and I have heard Ange say before that an injury was not much and then not see them for weeks.
Bodo are strong at home and have the advantage of a small ground & plastic pitch. However as it is May it will not be freezing cold and our players will cope with lower temperatures than here. Bodo were well organised and had a lot of procession and expect even more at home. They will get their players back from suspension and be a better team.
As always with Spurs it will not be straightforward and whilst like most I wanted a 3 goal lead a 2 goal lead is far better than what we faced last round.

They're clearly not that shit though, having made it this far. We should beat them but this version of Spurs is incredibly fragile.

Really crap teams do cup runs sometimes. Particularly when they have a weird league schedule, other sides have other competitions to focus for, and they have crappy artificial pitches in the tundra. Rangers got to the final of this same competition without the freezing plastic pitch factor, and sorry ... they are shit.

As long as we go out there and do the basics I can't imagine even this team can fuck up a 2-0 lead.

Better than Lazio? I recommend this vlog: [

The end of the clip gives a glimpse of just how insanely many chances were created specifically against Lazio. And how it seemed absurd that they didn’t score at least twice as many.
Point being: Tottenham is clearly better player for player. But that’s not necessarily the most decisive factor. Especially not when the yellow ones get to field their best midfield — the heart of the team.

Although I think we need to sit back somewhat, I also think we would push them right back if we scored first..
