Where do you think Man U and Spurs would be in the league in neither had been in the EL this season and did not have to play the 14 extra mid-week games it took to get to the final?
Who gives a shit? The other big clubs were also in Europe, they still manage to be half decent in the league.

Being shit isn’t because we’ve played a lot of games. It’s because we’re shit.

And without Europe we would be maybe a place or 2 higher but nothing dramatic.

It begs the question though, if he can foster such a good spirit and earn that buy in from the players, how bad must the actual coaching/tactics be to result in what we are seeing on the pitch much of the time?
I don't think his coaching and techniques are Bad per se. More he is too stubborn to adapt to a completely different league and level. If he can accept that, things might get interesting.

Yet they're still above us in the PL.

Has it though? We had the same last season and the thought was that it took a season for the players to adapt to the methods, and yet here we are again, there was also the notion that once players came back we would improve, we didn't, we got worse.

There's nothing concrete to make you believe we won't be in the same boat next year, we're actually on a downward trend and so logically there's more reason to believe that we will be worse still.

If, gigantic if, he stays, then there needs to be major upheaval in terms of back room staff. He absolutely must either bring in, or have brought in for him, a top tier coaching staff that can enact all of the nice fluffy ideas he has about "attacking" football.

Spot on. He wanted to bring John Kennedy with him from Celtic but Kennedy wouldn't come. Jedinak and Montgomery are just nowhere near this level.

"If it's so easy to get to a final, then why doesn't everyone who finishes in the top three do it?"

In Norway, boss Ange Postecoglou took aim at Tottenham's critics after they reached the Europa League final as he remained on course to continue his record of winning a trophy in his second season.

If we win the cup a lot of fans will forget about the season we have had as we would have achieved all our goals by winning this trophy.

If he lifts the cup I think he will stay on as levy wont want to deal with another manager search.
I agree. Levy will accept the injury rationalizations and we'll be back to another season of "The Ange Show". The only upside I see is that next season should be the end of the reign of error.

It's difficult to get to a CL final. one of the top 3 would probably have won the EL if they were all in it.

We’re not playing Bodo every week. Truth is we’ve played very average teams through the EL. He’s been comfortable at that level. He could probably manage Frankfurt and Bodo. Utd will be far tougher unfortunately.
It strangely makes total sense why he has done awful in the league but well in the europa. It should be expected really. I think he is good up to a certain level. Top 6 premier league team is above his level.
I think the CL teams not dropping in to the europa has helped a lot too. CL & a top premier league team are one step too high for him.
But on the other hand it seems so harsh & cold to sack someone who’s won you a trophy.

He's now trying to make themselves the underdog lol. Their pride will never allow that behind all the mics and cameras. They must be all so full of themselves in the name of Man Utd history. Let's hope that will continue be their downfall and we can smash them the hardest this 4th time.

Whatever you think of Ange he got it tactically spot on last night and in the last 4 games in Europe. I was fearing the worst and have been pleasantly surprised we have been able to knuckle down and get a result when needed. Obviously that makes it more frustrating we haven't been able to change it up in the PL.
All that being said we need to get behind the team and manager over the next few weeks. And personally I found it nice to see him smile and enjoying himself at the end.

It’s a strange situation to be in.

Will we sack him if he brings us glory? Even for Levy, that would be harsh.

Will he walk if he wins and struts out the place saying I told you so? This is also a big possibility because he’s clever enough to know that his stock would be high. He won’t change how we play. We won’t suddenly turn into the pragmatic Tottenham we saw in Bodo and Frankfurt in the league.

Will he want a crack at champions league if we win the Europa? 100% he will and for me this is the likely outcome and come October if he doesn’t change then it will be curtains.

If we lose he’s gone no matter what anyone thinks.

My feelings on it are that we can’t be where we are in the league. It’s embarrassing and our club should never be in that position. For that I think it’s better that he does go but Ange could give the majority of us our best night supporting this club in 12 days time.

We are one game away from the most disastrous season in about 50 years or a glory night we’ll talk about till we die.

Football is nuts.
I am with you. Win the europa, ang walks out on a high, we wipe the league from our memories …. a lovely happy peaceful ending.
& ang can be smug & troll the media & pundits who made fun of him for his “I always win a trophy in my 2nd season” comment.

Yeah he seems way more stubborn at making us more secure & solid in the league. Let’s have a happy ending all round :ange-arms:
