I'm not sure that is fair.

We beat Liverpool in the first leg of the Semi. In the 2nd leg we had to give a debut to Danso and Tel, and play Gray/Spence as full backs.

Bodo beat Porto, Lazio, Olympiacos, Twente, Besiktas to reach the Europa semis. All decent teams and Bodo deserve credit where its due. They aren't a terrible team by any stretch.
Liverpool scrubbed the floor with us this season, so much so I don’t even want to think about it. I do agree that Bodo did a fantastic job getting to the semis.

The Cup's are the luck of the draw, didn't Coventry, and Bristol City make semi-finals last season and I think the season before, our very own Bolo Glimt's per say?

The PL is over thirty eight games, no two legged games where a second chance to progress occurs.

Slott, Arteta, Pep and the like would willingly give up a CL Trophy for the PL Title.

There is no greater measure of a clubs success as the league table.

Not one.

The League table matters for the team that wins.

Winning is winning. You can get a moral victory for finishing higher than your resources but it’s not winning.

Winning is the ultimate measure of success.

There was a lot made in the papers about Iraola meeting up with the Bournemouth owner to discuss his future a few weeks ago and they were expecting him to sign a new contract. That’s all gone quiet hasn’t it? Makes me wonder if we’ve already feed him up. Not that I’m sure that’s the correct move.

Not again Dickie!!!!

So how is it that you became Ange out based on league performances after our chance of winning the league had gone ?

I’m more saying that the target should be v winning the prem, not just getting back to finishing 4th and being happy with it.

Best stadium and facilities in the world, highest ticket prices in the world…. We should be about winning.

I think this echo's the sentiment that Ange and the playing squad have said that the there is no pressure or expectation from the club to win. If the club is content with just top 4, what motivation is there for the players and coaching staff to do better?

At the moment, City have a monopoly on the league title, having won 6 of the last 8 seasons. Unless sanctions are applied for FFP breaches, they will go unchallenged as Liverpool without VVD, Salah and Alison would be back in a top 4 battle; and if they stay next season their age may finally catch up.

United, Chelsea, Woolwich has all gone through failed rebuilds; each having spent a billion with nothing to show for it. Forest have spent vast sums of money to finish 7th. Newcastle have hit their peak level with current squad and coach. Pushing to the next level is the hardest part in football.

There is a clear pattern for every team that wins the premier league -The teams core players are fit and play every game. Just look at Liverpool this season - Salah, VVD, Graverbach, McAlister, Diaz, Szolabi, Gakpo played every game. 12 players make up pretty much ALL of the premier league minutes played - so its the same 11 going out week in - week out with minimal rotation.

They keep their prem 11 fit by rotating heavily in cups and Europe but it’s tough to get the chemistry in the squad by rotating heavily. Need quality and the coaching staff have to get the balance perfect

Great post.

Crazy that it's being said that potentially the first manager to deliver a trophy in almost 2 decades, and the first European trophy in almost half a century is the worst manager we've even had!

Most hated, maybe.

How about Ossie? 93/94 we finished 15th and were knocked out of both cups in the early rounds. That season was over by January.

Christian Gross 97/98 finished 14th and again season was over by February after going out of both cups early to Barnsley and Derby.

I get your hatred for the man, but to say he's the worst manager in footballing terms is a bit of a stretch. League results have been shocking, and it will be our lowest ever PL finish, but the cup runs spare him that accolade surely.
Ange is utterly clueless, He is the worst Spurs manager ever!! we wont get another point this season

I’ll celebrate the EL for sure. Best thing to happen in my life as a Spurs fan.

I’ve never celebrated any coach getting sacked and never will.
Maybe you've never had a fat Aussie monkey on your back before? I know I'll celebrate when it's no longer hanging on there.
