Player Luka Vuskovic

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We won't and we don't need to. We MUST bring Vuskovic in this next season to get him club-trained, and he is absolutely good enough to be our 4th choice CB. In fact, I think there is a good chance that he would surpass Dragusin immediately, and possibly even Danso by the end of the season.

RCB - Danso, Dragusin, Gray
LCB - VdV, Vuskovic
RB - Porro, Spence
LB - Udogie, ???

Should we not get Europe next season, we can probably get away with just using Gray as a flex RB/CB, and playing Spence at LB with some games at RB.

I think we will buy the best available CB to replace Romero (assuming he wants to leave) who will also be an upgrade on Dragusin, providing we can find one so as to accommodate Vuskovic who, as this summer is when we officially buy and register him as a Spurs player will count as an overseas player for the next 2 seasons, and List B thereafter. With the money from selling both Romero and Dragusin we should be able to get the best available CB as a regular starter CB and have some cash over.

Enough out of europe, but if in europe we may need to weigh up if having Gray as a flexi CB/CM is enough, or whether we need to look at another flexi player or two - even Spence playing CB/RB/LB.

RCB - New CB, Danso, Gray flexi
LCB - VdV, Vuskovic (Danso can also play LCB I think)

Incidentally I think we have the right sort of numbers in squad so rather than buy players for squad I think we need to aim to bring in 2/3/4 players who are best quality who are wiling to come to Spurs so as to improve our first team and squad quality.

Luka Vuskovic opens up on his future at Tottenham

Vuskovic has confirmed that Tottenham want him to join the squad for pre-season this summer.

The Croatian wonderkid understands that regular playing time may be limited at the North London club at the moment, but he remains open to the idea of another loan spell to develop further.

Speaking to Nova TV, Vuskovic stated: “Right now, I don’t know anything yet. They told me to finish this season calmly and as well as I can, and then we’ll talk. But they did say they’d like to have me at the pre-season with them.

“If they want me to stay, I’ll stay, but I don’t think I’d get many chances because the club has top defenders, and maybe it would be smarter to go on loan for another season.”

Vuskovic will almost certainly go on preseason so as to get to know how the other players play, assessment by coaches etc.

Given he plays as LCB, and with Van de Ven's hamstrings, I would think the coaches will start with a match plan whereby whilst Van de Ven might play two thirds of the games, Vuskovic will be planned to start a reasonable number of games. Within a couple of months, it will become clearer how quickly Vusokvic is adapting to PL standard.

Why sell Dragusin, new manager,no high line ,he would be much better. If our new coach is Glasner,he plays 3 at the back.

I’m curious to see what Dragusin is like under a different manager, don’t get me wrong I’m not saying he’s a top level elite player, who under a different manager will suddenly become a world beater. I do however think that he’s likely a very decent defender who we bought for a system that simply doesn’t suit him - I think with a different manager who actually considers his system and players roles in it, I think Dragusin may actually still be a pretty able player.

If nothing else, I’d just like a look at him playing in a system that suits him more, then a more reasoned choice could be made.

Dragusin is a blocker, he’d be great under Conte, Jose or Moyes.

I think Dragusin is a very decent CB, but not top class, and if we want Vuskovic in the squad (who initially will count as overseas trained) then to ensure we keep
within squad numbers (In uefa squads its 17 overseas and 4 HG - so a total of 21 players, and not quite 2 full teams, so we can't have more than 4 CB's unless one is Club trained, and our CB situation looks like :

Romero (or new CB), Ven de Ven, Danso, Vuskovic (4 CB's) .... and Dragusin

He’d be interesting if we did go for Glasner or another 3-4-3 coach. Put two mobile experienced players either side of him and just let him win everything in the air or the CF playing back to goal.

Danso is the Romero replacement. Nobody will buy Radu of us as long as he's injured, and when he gets back to full fitness he'll be Kev's backup. In the meantime the new coach will be told to make do with Ash or even Archie. Do I like it? Nope. But don't see us sign another RCB when already got 3 or 4 on the books.

Entering the new season with VdV as our starting LCB and Vusko as his backup would be suicidal. The former is uber fragile, the latter a kid with zero experience of the mighty PL. But I bet that's what will happen. Fuck me, we'll probably extend Davies by a further year.

Dorrington will get another loan, probs to the Champo or League One.

Even before Levy's statement I had little hope of us signing a quality CB, let alone two. But now he's basically said there'll be very little money available, no chance. Don't matter we need two monsters at CB to play ahead of Danso, Micky, Ash & Vusko...it won't get done. Classic Levy MO.

First senior Croatia call up for Luka! 👏

We have bigger concerns than CB. We don’t have a midfielder who is comfortable on the ball, nor a winger who can create.

I like the way this lad talks, really seems to have his head screwed on and down to earth.

If he is to be loaned then i hope we can find a Prem club who would blood him. Otherwise a stronger league, Serie A did wonders for Spence.

I assume that he's going to be kept in house so that he gets the three years required before the age of 21 to be classed as club trained.

We conceded 61 league goals last season, we're at that same total this season with one game left...add to that another 13 in the Europa League. Of course, it ain't all on the goalie and defenders, and the coach has a lot to answer for, but still that's a shocking stat. Besides, Romero is on his way out, Micky is as injury-prone as it gets, Dragusin looks like a Chiriches regen...so yeah in my opinion, CB is a priority. Same re FB.

But then again we also need better keepers, 3 CM, 2 or 3 wingers, a CF who scores goals and some quality on the bench.

Yeah fair point. There’s no hiding that we need extensive surgery throughout the side when you put it like that!

A summary of Luka Vuskovic season on loan at Westerlo :

Jupiter Pro League - 28 appearances (28 starts), 2,475 minutes, 7 goals, 2 assists, (and 1 red card)
Europe Play offs - 8 appearances (5 starts) 490 minutes, 1 assist
Total - 36 appearances (33 starts). 2,975 mins, 7 goals and 3 assists (&1 red card)

A good season for Luka with almost 3,000 minutes played in perhaps 7th best league in europe - and astonishingly 10 goal involvements for the centre back. One red card.

Other managers will be looking and thinking 'I'd like some of that' ..... before thinking 'and he's was only 18 in February 2025, is he too young ?'
