Is he? I'm not sure. He doesn't give off the vibes of someone looking ahead to a new season.

I think he has every right to expect being given next season, and every right to expect the sack for the league results.

That's not a great position to be in tbf

He will stay. If he doesn't it would be a double celebration, but I can't see it happening.

He's one of the most egotistical people I've ever seen. Genuinely. That might be the only reason he steps down, because next season deep down he knows it will be the same old shit and he won't have something like this to fall back on. That's all you can cling on to.

I was desparate to get rid of him.

Now I'm open minded. Still concerned it'll all end in tears next season but if he can adjust his approach like he has shown in the EL, then I don't see why he can't have us competing at the right end of the league table.

Winning breeds winning and he's now created that amongst this group, many who are young and could be our core for years.

That can not be underestimated.

I think give him the first half of next season and give him some genuine quality to improve the areas that need it most.

Can't believe I'm saying all this, but last night is/was powerful and you have to credit him for coming through and delivering in these circumstances ie nearly everyone wanting him gone.

I don't overly like him, but I can set that aside for what's best for the Club overall, and that might just be building on this with Ange in charge for sometime yet.

Yeah I know lmao, and I knew he would be. I said he would be pre match if we won, and there was always a decent chance we win because we were playing a team who under their current coach have a PL win % comparable to Derby in the worst premier league season ever.

He's here to start next season and its going to be terrible. Whoopedy fucking doo, more depressing football and results.

It could be but it also might not be. If Ange has reached a point where we have 2 faces, 1 that’s Gung ho balls to the wall, and the other stubborn and defensively solid, we could surprise a few people.

We aren't surprising shit. We were marginally more effective than the worst United team in history last night. It was a quality devoid shit off between two teams going nowhere fast under their coaches. We just happened to be marginally more competent and won it, thanks to a few players at the back turning up.

He's either stepping down "magnanimously" (dream world) or we're ending up mid-table until he goes next season. Which is a waste of everyone's time, but will likely happen as everyone is going to make this trophy win far too emotional and ignore the reality. As expected.

As the high of yesterday settles. It’s still very clear that he’s got to go. Performances across the board have not been good enough for a very long time. I’m happy that he adjusted and we won a trophy. Is there a middle ground between that and the suicide ball? I haven’t set it. Definitely didn’t see it in the 2nd leg against Liverpool. I think we get caught up in this “don’t let the media diminish our achievements” mindset that then we also don’t look at it objectively. We beat a really crappy Man U, who we’ve already beat 3 times. We had a good scrappy win over Frankfurt. Outside of that, I haven’t really been impressed in any of our performances. Yes, winning mentality and all that is great but don’t let that gloss over what is the big picture.

Thank you for what you have done but I think we’ll regret it if we don’t move on.

Thought it was Spurs who won but hey ho.

And I have no issue with people wanting Ange out before AND after this result. In fact I respect it. But if you'"re trying to convince me that harry7 or sudoku are somehow more abusive or vile than the likes of Daveyboyhitlernunbers and his ilk you are either lying or deluded.

There is a vanishingly small amount of Ange Inners on this site as anyone remotely reasonable was driven away by relentless abuse. Pretending you're a victim is, I'm afraid, rather pathetic.
again, chickens and eggs. from my perspective, i saw people point out that ange's tactics were suspect get attacked as 'covert gooners' or bad fans or 'everything that's wrong with the club' and 'why we lose', etc.. personal attacks when we're just discussing football on a football forum. sure, plenty of bad words on both sides of this debate but the fuel was poured on by the ange defenders from the start.

This is me as well. I wouldnt be uspet at all if he goes, but I do think the players would be. If he stays the first half will have to show some drastic improvement

Oh careful, you'll be accused of not celebrating or enjoying the win because you've pointed out this United team aren't very good.

Bit emotional for me.

We have always had some very high level performances this season.

Football can be funny like that sometimes and its far from guaranteed we will be shit under Ange next season.

I have no idea what to do about Ange. Ask me in a few months.

Until yesterday it was obvious he needs to go due to the reckless tactical inflexibility, but this team is still very together, that win was down to flexibility, and so he probably deserves another window and a few months. But I'm 90% sure the wheels will come off.

I knew this was going to happen if we win. I'm still Ange out because we all know deep inside his style of football is not sustainable in the PL. We were really lucky that we didn't get relegated and still won a trophy. He definetely has luck on his side and that is a part of his skill. But even luck runs out with time. Its best he leaves when we have a good memory of him. If he stays and we are shit in the league again with CL... it will be a very messy situation.

We need to take the next step and build on this win, with the money, get an elite manager back him and try to go for glory. That is the only thing left for us. I don't know if Ange is the man that can do that... no, I KNOW he is not that man. Let's move on guys.

It's good that you mention harry7 there. Some of the most disgusting cyber bullying I've seen has been the abuse and campaign to get him removed from the site, all because he's consistently stuck to backing the manager.

Whilst I don't agree with much of what he's posted, he's done nothing but put forward his opinion and belief, which I respect.

The pond scum who have continually tried to hound him out are the same cunts that were whining about being "entitled to their opinion" when it ran against the grain.

I don't recall anyone trying to get them banned for their opinion.

Now we're getting history rewritten to paint them as victims?

Fucking low lifes.
he's a troll. that's what happens. and just look at the language you're using today. get a grip dude

Lol we've had like maybe 3 or 4 "high level performances" in an entire season. That's why we are 17th.

THAT United team were unbeaten in that competition till last night. Fucking THAT United team! Jesus.

Almost nothing is ever guaranteed but there's zero reason to belief we improve. Last night wasn't some team coming together as a well coached side.

All academic. No way the club sack him after last night, but he might walk himself. I hope he gets one more chance to build on last night, this is unknown territory for us so people should keep an open mind.
