Yes, I think the CL final created a hole in my soul that I am now glad is filled. It's quite scary to think how fast time has moved on without a trophy for us. That being said, I think it is just age because I remember people talking about how crazy it was that liverpool hadn't won the league in 20 years, and now with this season I think it is 22 years since Woolwich last won it!
It's been a bit up and down! My last post was in late 2017 and I was juggling being a new parent with coming on here and finding the aggro that was on here (as I mentioned before, it was probably peak Arcspace/John Thomas era, with accusations of sin bin syndicates etc, so wasn't a fun place to be. Oh and Gibbsy). I had kidney stones around that time and some operations for it, and felt like a break. Lost father-in-law quite young to cancer since then, and had some undiagnosed heart/seizure thing that resulted in a hospital stay, which I think was work-related stress, so I've had a read of the forums now-and-again to see what the mood is like.
Hope you're well. From a brief look at who I'd messaged back in the day, it seems most of the old faces have gone now - salmon, arc, joe clash, southstand billy, carlito etc.. Or at least their old usernames.

If you check the actual facts, hamstrings were not the cause of most very important injuries. They were mainly VDV issues. Vic, Maddison, Son, Kulu, Dom, Cuti which were very much missed had injuries that had nothing to do with training or playing intensity.please answer why we had so many injuries.

I think that this 'training and style of playing caused the injuries' song should come to an end.
We had zero creative players fit and we played to shithouse and win in a final to make sure we won.

We've got what we wanted, a trophy win after all these years, Ange got he wanted, a massive "fuck you" to the doubters and the press.
Can we all part ways into the sunset happy with that? You cannot finish on 21+ defeats in a 38 game season and keep your job at the 9th richest club in the world, surely, regardless of winning a cup? Trying to rationalise the league form by claiming we gave up on it early is not some vindicating statement, it's a damning indictment of Ange's ability to handle multiple competitions with clever squad and game management. We're in the Champions League next season, do we need to get battered in all 8 league stage games to get back in the top 6 next year under Ange? Can't we have a manager (like Emery at Villa who btw don't exactly have a very deep squad either) that does us justice in both competitions?
Ange can get good work off the back of this victory, other clubs will look at the squad togetherness and now his nuanced approach to getting over the line when it matters and want to take a chance on him, but he simply is not good enough for us and still needs to go.

Let’s hope he learned from the mistakes he admitted that he made in the summer last year.
The players clearly love him and they are now Europa League champions together.
The targets we have seen leaked the most were mid table guys with no silverware on their CVs like Iraola, Frank, and Silva. No doubt good coaches but can you imagine any of them trying to get buy in from these players after this?

Yes, I can imagine it, because it's not difficult to achieve, you're talking about professionals who are paid tens or hundreds of thousands of pounds a week to do their job, and they will do their job or fuck off elsewhere in the summer window. Not to mention not being funny but this squad just finished 17th, you can count on one hand the number of players in this team that you would call "indispensable".
I massively feared that sentiment and emotion would get in the way of cold, hard logic when it came to this decision post-final, looks like we'll be back in this boat in November or so if the general fan sentiment is anything to go on...

And for your information i was unbelievably emotional after the final. My father is the reason I support spurs but he died a few years back. So yeah watching them lift a trophy without him being around was very emotional. Don’t you fucking dare insinuate anything to the contrary you snake.

It's a shame that you are not euphoric like 99% of Spurs fans are.
Eh? VDV, Son, Romero, Odobert, Werner, Udogie, Richarlison and Davies all had hamstring issues and almost all were poorly managed and had a recurrence of the injury. Johnson and Sarr had calf issues too. Then there’s all the players who Ange described as “sore” without any proper detail. We also had stress fracture injuries to Romero and Deki which are a clear sign of being overtrained/played.
So clearly a huge amount of injuries, mainly in the first part of the season when Ange was having them do insane amounts of running. Since he stopped playing that way in February the issues have eased up a bit. It’s absolutely clear that his style of play cause injuries early in the season, Ange himself has more or less admitted this.
