Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Thankfully he won't stay so I won't be devastated.

In all seriousness, I do understand emotionally why some want him to stay, I do get that, but it's still absolutely stupid, baseless, and would be a monumental mistake.

If the club decide to keep Ange, it will confirm to me we are very much run by a bunch of clowns.

You can't decide Ange isn't good enough to be manager after a absymal season finishing 17th, and then change your mind because he won a cup. It's really short sighted.

The only way i can see it is if, sometime in Feb or March, Ange and Levy had a meeting where Ange got the green light to 100% focus on the Europa.

Doesnt excuse the league form but if Levy agreed in some part to the Europa win being above all else then perhaps we may still see him here next season - cant see it myself but who knows

If you can improve as a club you do so. We've largely got out of jail with that win and have a golden opportunity to push on and be a serious threat. I dont want to see us back where we started come October, losing to pretty much every decent side, wracking up injuries and the positivity we have now just dissapearing. We then have to find someone decent to come mid season, never easy. Thanks for the trophy and best wishes but he is easily upgradeable. He isnt going to suddenly become an astute tactician, we're not going to miraculously become consistant, we're not going to stop losing a ton of games (27 out of our last 48 league games). You dont have to be Mystic Meg, we have 18 months of evidence.

Keeping everything the same in the vague hope all will be better then why not keep the entire squad together? Maybe Bissouma wont be flakey and massively inconsistant, maybe Richarlison will stay fit and develop a first touch, maybe Sonny will revert to playing like its 2020. These sort of opportunites dont come around often, imo it would be madness to piss it away out of vibes and sentimentality.

The positives to him staying is that he has reiterated numerous times that "we have to bring in experience". Managers like Glasner and Xavi would absolutely not come without assurances that they will have money to spend on experienced proven players so they would be a safe bet but managers like Mckenna would simply accept what Levy tells him (and i like Mckenna tbh) meaning probably back to square one.

In Europe Ange has tweaked his gameplan/style away from home which is something i thought he would never do so that's a positive. He did that in the final as well but how much of it was down to inuries? we will never know.

I don't like the part of his post match interview where he differentiated Europe from league football and i think that's alarm bells. Like i said, i was happy he tweaked his style of play but him trying to justify it by essentially saying "yeh its because its a knock out comp" made me think is he going to continue to be his stubborn self in the league next year if he stays. Maybe if he gets the personnel he wants that might be ok?

I dunno man, like i said a day or so ago if we get a proven big name in who will not accept being bamboozled by Levy then we should still replace him but if not then back him and give him what he wants.

If Levy does sack Ange its going to cost something like a total of £12 million , according to the BBC he gets a £2 million bonus for winning the EL and it's extimated he is on £5 mil per year, 2years I think left on his contract , that's all the hotel money gone then. :)

We’ve pissed away £3m for every league position we’ve dropped down though!

So the decision about next season will be financial...you're right...championship here we come.

Whether you, I or any other spurs fan likes him or not...totally disregarding the wave of positivity he'll be getting from this win, because of this major achievement, he has earnt at least one more season serving up as much crap football as he pleases in the PL with us!

We are not a team that is expected to win trophies, quite the opposite as we all know all too well. He has done something no other manager has been able to do at our club in FOURTY ONE years......... Let's take a moment to reflect on that....smell the roses and truly recognise what's been achieved here.......

Easier said than done with these sort of hypotheticals, but I would of (through gritted teeth!) been willing to accept at least another three years of awfully executed #angeball, if it meant us winning this trophy.
I don't want him here next season, but I accept he likely will be.
I just hope Levy has someone on standby for Oct/Nov time.

Yeah that's spot on mate

To anyone desperately demanding a sacking/resignation in the coming days, he said clearly after the match that he and his family are going on Holiday on Monday.

I have absolutely no doubt, or even a disagreement, with the fact he will be allowed to do that without being sacked first.

Hypothetically speaking - let's say he is here next season.

Levy needs to establish with him;
A) that we cannot finish outside the top 7?
B) what is unaceptable and likely to lead to a sacking (like going on 5, 6, 7, 8 game winless runs
C) that we expect to see adaptable tactics

Having watched the match on Wednesday it was obvious he WILL drop the defence deep and let them defend rather than sprint and hopefully catch. What struck me was that almost all of the dangerous moments from Man United came from Vicario.
I think it's time, after 2 seasons, to say enough is enough. Many of our problems come from him and/or the defence being too high up the pitch and FB's out of position. Ange needs to sort the latter and Levy needs to put his hands in his deep pockets and get a keeper less flappy than a flappy paddle gearbox.

All the disrespectful comments.. seriously get an absolute grip. Club would be in a much better place if you all fucked off rather than Big Ange. Go support another club. You aren't wanted, welcomed or needed at this great football club. Build this man a statue. He's done what so many before him haven't been able to. Step one ✅
just noting this was the second post here after the whistle. there's several more. so who's celebrating a win and who just wants to win the internet again?

I think it's gonna be a mutual consenting departure
Everyone keeps face, Ange can't slag the club off and gets his compensation
We move on with a hopefully competent head coach

I couldn't agree more. But the reality is, at the risk of repeating myself...despite his woeful football in the PL this season, he's just won us our first major trophy in fourty one years. It's not ideal, but he's earnt himself another season with us, unless of course, he continues serving us up gash football and endless losses in the PL.
Well, a new manager will be a nice just after Christmas present this year.
