Romero replacement is almost impossible tbh. I’m sure there is one but I can’t think of anyone that does all the things he does.

Paulinha struggles with mobility, Cardosa looks like he does too although that’s just going by clips.
Not keen on Paulinha really, think he was overrated at Fulham. Craven cottage is a tight pitch and they played very compact. Couple of long range goals and a couple of bad fouls he got away with got him noticed but I think his agility and mobility gets exposed elsewhere. Think it has at Bayern

Which we need. Playing in the CL we need more quality at CB rather than Davies/Dragusin level players to fill in for VDV.
Your weakness are the forwards. Not good enough (bar Odobert: he has potential). You lack dribbling and creativity.
You have great defenders. Good midfielders. You need at least a top winger (two better) and a top center forward.

Next season we will have Danso, Dragusin, Vuskovic on the right and only VDV on the left. My feeling is that LCB is more pressing, we aren’t going to get a Romero level RCB replacement as most of them are already playing for elite clubs.
All moot until we have clarity on the manager.

The good thing is that Ange is an outstanding recruiter, so even if he doesn’t last the season, we won’t be left with a squad that’s a mess.
