Does Guehi and any other club get a say in that?

Just like outfield player, it's hard to guess the trajectory of a goalie, but Chevalier I think could have done well at Spurs.
Villa spotted, and got, Martinez...and now Chevalier (maybe)...

I wouldn’t look down my nose at signing mbuemo when we sign so many average players like odobert, Werner, solomon etcOnly Odobert that I'm aware of. He's 20, so hardly Jay Rodriguez or Barnes
No
It does , but , those good players , many who may have played against , know just how open we play and are going to be very circumspect about coming here , especially if Ange is still here .We are a CL team next season, this makes us a cracking proposition, should go all out for the best that's avaliable. Yeah Cherki would be a good shout, should try and get Gyokers as well.
Good players rarely make good coaches. Great players even less so.This reads to me as an endorsement to keep Ange and that he is willing to stay at the club as our journey begins.
Get Romero on a new contract.
Bring in Van Der Vaart and Modric to the coaching staff.
Maybe Levy is not pissing about.Spurs being left behind again. Not surprising especially with the manager situation up in the air.
I wonder how long Levy will piss about for this time.
Players give 2 fucks about CL football. It's always been a dog whistle for bigger wages. It's always, always, always about the money.United signing Cunha and Mbuemo.
Remind me, who won the Europa League final and got CL football?
That would explain why, last time we qualified for the CL, we used our "War Chest" to sign Perisic, Richarlison, Spence, Bissouma, Forster and Lenglet. I'm certain that the CL was not a factor for any of those players and I suspect a lot of top players were deterred by Conte's reputation for walking and the fact that he had only signed an 18 month contract.Players give 2 fucks about CL football. He wasn't a bad player for us. Not exactly world class but he was a reliable squad player and a habit of chipping in with important goals here and there. Operated as a makeshift left winger in a Ronny Rosenthal kind of way.Off topic but does anyone know if Steed Malbranque has a thread on this forum? I've put his name into the search feature but nothing was found.
This is really the crux of it. The manager debates aren't pointless by any stretch but no one's picking up this squad and turning them into a truly competitive outfit across more than one competition and we're in 4 this coming season.I think you are crackers if you think that squad is ok. That main squad is three injuries - Romero, VDV, Maddison - away from being extremely weak/poor. Either meh/deeply flawed senior players or very inexperienced young players. That squad is full of players who wouldn’t look out of place in bottom half teams.
There were rumours that he smoked, especially when he played for Sunderland after he left us, and it caused him to be unable to play for a whole 90 minutes but I think it's probably bullshit. He wasn't a bad player for us. I don't think a new contract is necessary but some sort of statement to confirm that Ange is staying would be great. There is some really basic stuff we need to do before signing new players. Levy needs to make a definitive statement on Ange. Is he in charge or not and is he being backed? Only an idiot would sign for a club with uncertainty around the manager. Either he goes now and is thanked for his service, or Levy gives him a new contract and says publicly that he’s being backed. Has to be one or the other. This week. The lack of a convincing statement from Levy is a recurring problem at this club.
I think a new contract is important, even if the contents do not mean much (e.g. same notice period as before). Just to instill authority in Ange to the players and any new signings, and get the media off his back. If we lose 7 of the first 10 games they can still replace him. Just increases his odds of not losing 7 of the first 10 matches. Currently, if he stays, there will be intense speculation on all fronts that he is a dead man walking and that will not help.I don't think a new contract is necessary but some sort of statement to confirm that Ange is staying would be great.
I remember when AVB was sacked a lot of people assumed that Sherwood was only going to be in charge for a few matches and Levy had to make a statement saying that Sherwood had been given an 18 month contract just to say "This is the manager. Get behind him."
I just feel like the transfer window is going to be underwhelming. Levy has already indicated we won't spend what we don't have and we are also carrying 230m of transfer net debt which will have to be serviced. Two, maybe three 20m - 30m players.
