Some "fans" still wouldn't accept they were wrong.

Kane alone makes the gulf between the squads "lightyears". There are very very few players like him. Ever.
Think this is a very good analogy. The issue is the names we are being linked to don't scream "upgrade"... But at a club where Mourinho and Conte can't get a sniff out of Europe maybe there is no obvious "upgrade" and we go for potential?
I would hope (possibly stupidly) that the decision was made weeks ago. We go one way if he wins the cup and another if we don’t. Or we are going in one direction, no matter what.it would t be surprising if we are still deciding, but it would be a disgrace if we are.
But let’s go with your thought that we are still making the decision. I’d be surprised if a fear of backlash was the only thing in the “pro” column. There must be more to it. What else could there be?

Kane was injured for the majority of the CL knockouts and the end of the league season. Pochettino masterminded wins over peak City, an incredible Ajax team who would've cakewalked this years EL without getting out of second gear, and a pretty good Dortmund team - as well as navigating Inter and Barca in the groups.
Are you kidding me? They would struggle to stay in Championship across the whole long season.
Now add to it the likes of Quarabag, Ferencvaros and Elfsborg who would never get out of League One...
We played mostly utter garbage, so I honestly cannot fully feel that kind of enjoyment most seem to have.
I mean - I get it - if we were in CL final. And would have won it. We would have been THE BEST CLUB IN EUROPE without any questions. But what does EL winners make us in reality? I cannot find any more fitting description than "Winners of Eurpean division 2".
But alright - that gets too philosophical. I don't think I would be so harsh if that end of the EPL season would have at least used properly. We had 12 games there. Why not give some consistent playing time to Moore and Ajayi who literally bailed out Ange at the end of January giving one of the most memorable evenings of the season? Moore got more than few minutes sub in TWO games out of this 12. Ajayi never got a sniff. Gray never got a real chance to play in the midfield while there were plenty of moments to test him there. There were really good options to let him grow into this position. Like Southampton at home. But in that one he was on the bench. And in following game against LIVERPOOL AWAY he was literally thrown to wolves. That is not how you treat a young player in my books. All that just baffles me. But most here just see the trophy and say that we won this so everything is super nice and lets continue. I don't quite get it.
I don't agree with much of what they say, but either O'Hara or Bent were talking about the "one game to save your job" scenario on Talk Sport a few months ago. I can't even remember if it was Ange/Spurs they were talking about tbh.
But the point was it makes no sense. If you're at the point of thinking 1 more game is enough to sack the manager, it's probably time to sack the manager.
It's like being in a terrible relationship. You say to yourself one more argument/affair/assault and I'm out. If you're thinking that, you should already be gone tbh. Talk Sport didn't say that, that's my analogy.

Seems to some clubs in the premier league, that hunting down the rockstar coach is less appealing than it was. Chelsea go for Maresca, and looked at Mckenna. Likewise, Man Utd last summer were rumoured to be sniffing around Mckenna. When Slot was appointed at Liverpool he was maybe less glamourous than other candidates (His stock is obviously far higher now). But Frank would fit in that mould for us I think. A coach, that develops players. Will collaborate with the clubs transfer ideas. Every press conference is less of a soap opera the way Conte's was. Gets the blood pumping less when announced of course... but
Di Matteo has an FA Cup and Champions League to his name.

Yes - and if I remember that season we also suffered quite a few injuries.
But my reference to Poch having a better squad was not just about that season or even just about that cl campaign.
Also Poch was/is a much better manager than Postecoglou full stop. But he still won fuck all so I'm claiming the Postecoglou era as an outstanding success thank you very much and wishing him all the best in the future
A good watch, fairly basic stuff obviously, but probably not for ange. Get the feeling that although he is a nice guy if you dont want what he wants tactically you're fucked. Completely different from Ange wiping the players bums every week and taking the blame for us fucking up. Surely if our playing staff had anything about them they'd prefer some grown up management.
I think he is worth a punt. I'm actually starting to convince myself I will be annoyed if it isnt him.

I never said he was. I just commented that in Poch's time of success we had a far superior squad than the one we will currently go back into CL with. This is (or should be) a much bigger concern than who the manager is imo
