You see, I have listened to Frank plenty and you're right, he comes across as someone with an air of football philosopher about him. However, when you get by the prancing he's not actually saying much at all or at least not anything I couldn't conclude myself. Having a nuanced, detailed and sophisticated approach to tactics does not make you a better manager (see Harry Redknapp). Can he motivate, will his players run through walls for him, does he feel the game and know when to make changes, can he win when it matters. All of these things are not something I am saying Ange has by the way. Also, I don't think he has overachieved at Brentford at all. They are exactly where they should be... slap bang in the middle of the PL. If anything he should have at least kicked on by now and got them into Conference League.
