Would've been exactly like Ten Hag. Sacked by bonfire night. A rare good decision from Levy I think.

Tbh in hindsight I do feel bad about the sacking even though it’s the right decision.

However, I’m happy about the fact that he’s gone out on a high, he’ll ultimately be in the history books and remembered fondly overall - rather than being sacked mid way through November.

There’s no getting round it, we’ve just sacked a legend.

More goals per game than any other in Prem history

First trophy for 17 years

Champions League qualification

All this despite losing Kane in his first seasin

Success despite unpresidented injuries - all in the same area of the team - defence, then forwards, then creative midfield.

You can guess he will move on and have success elsewhere and make us look even more stupid than usual
The thing is, you can easily make just a strong argument in the other way. If people think it's a stupid decision, it's because they are purely basing it on emotion, or because they're ignoring the facts. The trophy was absolutely wonderful but...

Barely over 1 point per game since October 2023. 5 defeats in 7 at the end of 23/24, very few injuries, only beating relegation teams.

Record breaking numbers of defeats this season. Ritual humiliation against any decent opposition.

One single draw against Woolwich and Chelsea in two years.

Ange unravelling and insulting fans.

Says he's obsessed with winning yet happy to purportedly throw away league games left right and centre.

Injuries blatantly exacerbated by his crazy tactics.

Europa League won, but no genuinely strong opposition played. A final won by the skin of our teeth. And nothing as easy to win this year.

We're sacking a manager that delivered CL qualification, yet just before the final everyone (outside Spurs) was saying it was a disgrace that we could qualify for it.

Don't get caught up in the media bullshit and just remember how dire it felt back in April.

Thank you Ange for a wonderful trophy but time to go.

You can't finish 17th man, 17th!

Eintracht away and in the final we showed a little bit of defensive competence but other than that we were bad in the EL aswell, the idea he was getting another season was clearly mental.
Exactly. Levy's got a track record of sacking anyone who takes us below 5th, so Ange was given way more time than most, in the hope that he might get us a trophy. Sadly for him, we ended up slightly below 5th. Levy knows we must remain a 'top 6' club and he also knew that Ange's coaching wasn't up to the task.

And? The last time we won in Europe was 41 years ago.

Therefore, I would have taken 17th and a Europa League win at the start of the season.

Successful.

Let's just go back to what you said:

Are you expecting Spurs to finish third? I thought the goal was top half and win the Europa League. By the way, plenty of European Cup winners finished bottom half and kept their manager and finished 6th the next season. Look up Aston Villa.
They didn't finish bottom half - they finished top half. And they happened to be the reigning league champions.

Ron Saunders won the league, then quit half way through the next season. Tony Barton took over (again half way through the season) and won the European cup. The then won the Super Cup.

Honest to god you've not looked up any of the supporting evidence for your point here, so maybe you should have followed your own advice and "look up Aston Villa" :ange-facepalm:

Also I legit think if we turned in a performance in the final league game of the season against Brighton and won that game it'd really have given Levy food for thought but instead we got humiliated and I'm sure he knew then there was no letting this guy have another season.

Ange is a first class self-promoter, no doubt about that. Maybe the greatest in the history of football. At 60 years old with only 2 years of top club management on his CV he has the British media eating out of his hand like he's Alex Ferguson. I've never seen this many excuses made for a manager who is out of his depth in the PL.

It's because it's us though

The press wouldn't support him being at any other top club

I don’t where to start with you tbh

If you can’t see what our board are now, you never will
I see what they are, but moaning about it isn’t going to change anything.

Gnashing teeth and having a public protest isn’t going to change anything.

Posting vitriol on a fan forum isn’t going to change anything.

The board and ownership will change when they get an acceptable offer, not before.

If you employ a manager that doesn’t get on with the board that’s only going to end one way, so why are cheerleading for that?!
