Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Says a lot about Sané's mentality and ambitions that he is going to the Turkish league at 29 years old, probably a massive bullet dodged.

Liverpool sadly are a perfect example of how to run a club. They are massive, much bigger than Chelsea or City but they don’t have a sugar daddy pumping in money and their revenue isn't much more than ours. When I look at our squad I see depth but I don’t see quality, 2-3 elite signings would change us.

Owners that genuinely want to win, not just throw out buzz words like “compete”

Remember when we were ahead of Liverpool??

Now dropping 150m on one player and still chasing players that would be our only marquee spend at 50-60m. And offering wages that triple our biggest legend in modern history to rotation players to compete with their starting 6

Broke the British transfer record for a goalkeeper, defender and now a midfielder. Sure a striker will happen too one day.

They spent next-to-nothing last season. Where were your pom-poms then?

Who are they offering £600k to as a 'rotation player'

I've no idea where these numbers are sourced from, if from the likes of Transfermarkt its from numbers guessed at by interested football amateurs.

Net Player Acquisition costs less sales proceeds received
Figures Taken from Spurs accounts Cash Flow - £m's
Year to June 2024 142.2m
Year to June 2023 106.8

Total of last 5 years 421.2m
I estimate transfers by calendar year, not seasons, but my guess is very close to that total:

He really doesn’t need money. His endorsements in Korea are insane. I really hope he goes to a slower league in Eiurope. He could do bits in Serie A playing in a front two.
I'd love to be proved wrong but I think his legs are gone, I tell you what would be a good ending to his career, linking up with Harry at Bayern , winning a trophy together - they will have to settle for the league though as Franky boy is winning the CL with Spurs next season!

No surprise and for me he was always going to be a massive bullet to dodge. Found it amazing how many fans were twerking for him a few weeks ago!

The top teams don't let top players go. Man United have paid the price for consistently taking rejects off the big teams "on the cheap" but then paying them scandalous wages.
