Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I can't really see, money aside, why anyone would want Man Utd.
United are the most decorated and globally famous club playing to the biggest crowds in the biggest and most globally famous league in the world. Plus the money is good as you say.

The problems there are huge of course, but it doesn't surprise me at all that managers and players are constantly backing themselves to pull that sword out of the stone. Old Trafford is one of the grandest stages in the sport, that excites competitive people.

65m guaranteed for mbuemo and there's pool getting Wirtz for 100m guaranteed. We really are playing a different game than pool and city aren't we. Don't get me wrong I would be happy with mbeumo but shows what a level pool (and city) are at where they don't spend hugely more on their main signing but they get a completely different calibre of player
They also pay them double the wages that spurs pay their players

Wirtz on 355k a week

Not too sure about that. Theres a 35m difference between the 2 and I think that's about right.
We will only know once wirtz has settled in and see how he goes but the pl is a difficult place to succeed as a goalscorer compared to the bundesliga. Half the teams there are terrible compared to the pl. A player that you cam bank on scoring 15 goals per season is nothing to be sniffed at.

I get good vibes from this. I mentioned before that this felt like our Mane take 2 moment. We did not get him and he went on to great things as a player, scoring goals and being so vital to pool.

United are the biggest club in the country. Dont be so deluded.

I'll put my money where my mouth is. Mbuemo will sign for them, not us. We are being used by Brentford to start a bidding war.
Agree. Don’t think we’ll sign him. He wants to go Utd. They pay bigger wages. Think this is just a convenient story for both clubs probably, after the dialogue for the manager. They want to drive the price up for Utd.

People wondering why Mbuemo would choose United?

Well, in their banter period following Fergie they have won 2 FA Cups, 2 League Cups and a Europa League, plus lost the Europa League final twice, lost 2 FA Cup Finals and 1 League Cup Final. Plus they have new owners and a new project.

We are being used to make Man United cough up more money. Dont do it to yourselves.
You sure it was a meme?

It may seem that way to us, having grown up pretty much only knowing Man Utd league dominance through to our mid-late 20s, but there are 12 year olds now who haven't seen Man Utd win the league, and 21 year olds like Tel and Odobert, who have been born since Woolwich last won anything that wasn't the FA Cup.

I kind of feel like it's the same as when a generation or two older would talk about Everton being a massive club - time moves on and it's not that people forget, it's more than someone age 25 or so wasn't going through their teens with the Ferguson united, but rather the Moyes shitshow, or the Van Gaal shitshow, or the Mourinho shitshow, or the Solkjaer shitshown.
All they will have seen and remember is a Man Utd shitshow.
