I’d rather get a 40 year-old Kyle Walker back TBH.

Mate, I manage and analyse data professionally.... so let’s clear this up now: statistical analysis is not pure objectivity. It’s shaped by the framing, the variables you choose and the comparisons you make, and the assumptions you build in. You’re misusing the concept to shut down debate because you have lost all bearing and have nothing else to add.
Now, to break down the gaslighting, flip-flopping, and misdirection happening here:
My original point—Liverpool won the league without buying elite players on elite wages—is factual, not subjective.
You jumped in claiming Salah and Alisson were bought on elite wages. That’s provably false.
Then you pivoted to total transfer cost....but only once the wage angle stopped working.
Then back to wages.
Then back to the transfer cost again.
When that didn’t land, you pivoted to tone, hilariously implying I don’t “get” how this type of debate works. But all that really shows is that you’ve run out of ground and are leaning on condescension.
You invoked a general statistical trend about wages correlating with league position something which I never denied.... I said it’s not the full story, especially at the top. And the fact that Liverpool outperformed clubs with vastly bigger wage bills - 4 of them actually - supports that. That’s not me ignoring data. That’s me understanding it in context.....which you’ve refused to do from the start.
I see your game, my friend. I spend much of my day debating far more in-depth data than this with far smarter people than you.
We arent spending 140m on what is basically the same player... nor should we.signing BOTH Simons and Eze nice and early would go someway into making Daniels statement of intent mildly believable
It’s literally KWP or have a reduced CL squad until the likes of Gray and Bergvall become club trained in two years time.
There’s no way you analyze data for a living and you are so hung up on individual outliers as an excuse to “win” an argument in favour of your position instead of engaging with a discussion about a well studied trend.
Don’t try and give it the biggun because based on your answers I hope you really don’t work in data for a living.
OK mate - ignore everything else I said that shows you up for how you constantly like to debate on here - it's all there in black and white.
Bowen is probably retiring at Spam unless they get relegated in the next couple of yearsKudas is going to need some coaching. Amazingly flashy player but often very poor productivity, a typical move by him is beating 2-3 players and rather than passing to someone in a great position to score boots it miles over the bar. A selfish and unpredictable streak combined with great talent. If you can coach the fix he would be a top winger in the league, if you can’t it’s just another ok winger.
Mbeumo, Simons and Semenyo for me would be much lower risks. No way West Ham get the £85m release clause meet. They have Paqueta probably banned for life and their squad is poor, they do need to raise funds so I can understand them wanting money for him.
Bowen is the real one but they can’t sell him, they would be in big danger of relegation without Bowen. Bowen might be the most efficient player in the league when it comes to making the right decision, knows when to shoot, knows when to pass, just a very smart player.
Darwin really is a weird one and I think for 40m he is worth trying to get. As you say, he does so many things really well, his positional play is top notch, creates lots of chances and he could have a big season in him.
Don't see any benefit to selling Richarlison and replacing him with Darwin personally. Much for muchness and Richarlison is actually quite the fans favourite so why change it?Darwin really is a weird one and I think for 40m he is worth trying to get. Yes I get it, Levynomics is good and we really don’t need to change it to compete with Liverpool because they are proof that the trend can be broken.
Great stuff.
He probably looked around the London Stadium from his stool one game and thought to himself, “should’ve gone to Brighton looking back on it”Got a few Hammer mates , they loved him when he first arrived . By the end they felt he was a big time Charlie who thought he was to good for them .
Which is not an unreasonable take on his part tbf.
Anyway he didn’t down tools but they felt he didn’t put much of a shift in for them either
Same ones that moan about ambition and would get pissed off when we lose games when our starters are not fit.
Thing is that Spurs already have a 10 in Maddison, and Kulu can also play there (maybe Bergvall as well) ...and Maddison has proven himself at Spurs already (albeit he's been a bit inconsistent)...Agree that Frank likes inverted FWds who either get in behind or play that half space cross. I’m pretty sure Kulusevski will be moved to RW for that reason.
Which means either Johnson shifts to LW or Kulu and Johnson are the RW options and we need a 10.
Given how many right footed LW we have, Eze or Simons as 10’s who can play LW make some sense to me.
Kudus or Semenyo make sense if Frank is keeping Kulusevski as a 10 or even an 8
Are you
if you look at goals per minute Richy is a little bit more effective. its not just down to appearances, these can be for 90 mins or 5 mins. Richy gets one every 200mins or so and Darwin is about 225 mins. maybe its more about availability, Richy is injured a lot and we need someone that's there to be picked, especially with the amount of games we will have.,Interesting, possibly true although
Darwin - appearances 30 goals 5
Richarlison appearances 15 goals 4
Richarlison also works extremely hard, presses well. Darwin also misses a of chances I think Richy would score in the same scenario.
Each to their own
LOL literally not close to what I said - but we are NEVER competing with City on wages - seemingly NO ONE is - so the gap needs to be made up elsewhere.
Spending more on wages gets you into the discussion, but you need something more to actually win as Liverpool have shown - and are the only ones to show.
