Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We won't sell Richarlison to bring in Darwin. We wouldn't even turn over a profit on that transfer and Darwin's wages will be higher. It's no secret that we are trying to cash in on Richarlison and Son this summer. My guess is atleast 1 will be sold but it'll be to bring in someone younger and cheaper.

I'm not justifying this BTW. Darwin would be a big gamble but a fun gamble! I just know how the club operate and Darwin would just be seeing as way too high risk and low reward.

Funnily enough I could see Woolwich moving for Darwin if they fail to get in other targets.

Challenging on four fronts Frank won't want to keep a player that can only manage twenty games a season, especially when there is no other true option.

The Richarlison experiment should be ended.

KWP was given MOTM when he debuted for us, then got dropped for weeks. IIRC, he then got MOTM in his next game but was dropped again.

He most certainly was playing well in the rare opportunities he got. I can remember a high proportion of fans being absolutely mystified as to why he kept getting dropped after some very promising games.

This isn't me advocating us bringing in KWP by the way, but you suggesting that he was poor when he played for us is just plain wrong.
80% of the time was barely average, always a few mistakes per game in him, not strong enough easily bullied, not reliable....

Nice guy, he loves Spurs so always be happy for him & like him, but as a player at a top top level big fat NO

The usual way in practice is to offer a higher number than the buy out clause, but paid in instalments, and that frequently works.

So buy out clause £60m , you offer say £65m spread over 3 years (or whatever).

Key thing to note, whatever tactic you use, you end up paying more than buy out clause, and buy out clauses are usually set at the maximum they thought other clubs might pay. So you end up with a high priced player - so its a question of whether the player really is that good/game changing for the buying club. Its usually a massive win for selling club to get top $ for the player
In all honesty, I think the actual number of £68M is a fair price for Eze, it's just the structure that is an issue, which I think is easily surmountable.

It's debatable whether Eze in actually a "game changer," but I think that's fairly irrelevant personally. Does he improve us overall? I think he does, and any player like that comes at a high price. Would I pay more? Yes, if we're talking in the low £70M, which is effectively where we'd end up whichever route we take.

Essentially I think the deal is a win win for both selling and buying club, and they're always the best deals.

I don't disagree, based on what he's shown at Soton. The point I was making was that he simply wasn't "poor" when he played for us. You don't get voted MOTM in every start when you're poor.

As an aside, it would be interesting to see how he'd perform in a more structured setup than Soton's. Poch's was a more solid defensive setup and, like I said, he got accolades in that, he was just unfortunate that he had Walker and then Trippier in front of him. Who knows how well he'd have done with us had he been given more opportunities?

i did say 80% of the time he wasnt good enough, just a fact not denigrating.... even N'dombele got 2 for us

The strategy of demanding 49.5m upfront. There are 2 potential avenues.

Bid less than they will accept all summer then say to Frank we tried.

Or convince Frank on the benefits of buying an unknown player from Lique 1 for 16m.

TBF 50m up front is unreasonable. If I was a player, I'd never go to palace. Its like a black hole where nobody can escape.
I genuinely do not believe anything this bloke says at all..its fully made up.. Everything about that account screams click farm.

Mate, as has already been posted, he only started 3 games and was MOTM in all of them. The rest of his 12 games he was a sub coming on with less than 15 minutes to play. How you can equate that to "80%of his time being not good enough" I don't really know.
nah you just dont get it, he was below par player at a top level.... anyway go buy him for you fantasy football league if it makes you feel happy, its all good in tha hood & very nicely im done with the kwp topic👍

Don't get me wrong, I like Eze, and was wanting to buy him both 2 years ago and further back when he was at QPR and thought we missed out badly by not buying him for £20m ish (I think Palace paid £17m/18m). He's versatile both as LW and a CAM type.

But the price is 'toppy' and the pay up front structure, no matter how its done pushes price up further. So I'd still be very happy to see him at Spurs but think the deal will restrict a bit what else we can do this summer.

Yeah not sure why he keeps getting posted he’s not like those ITK who had a few genuine links but then inflates what they know for clicks. He’s just a flat out bullshitter who bought a blue tick, but he doesn’t have any links and has never called anything right lol.

They like to get their business done early which is the correct thing to do!

That implies a habit. Last season, Chiesa was signed at the end of August. Marmadashvilli was also signed pretty much on TDD, but I don't think signing him a year before he joins is quite counting as 'early'.

Season before, Gravenberch was a 1st Sept signing, Endo was august, and Sbozobslai and McAllister were July. Season before that everyone came in on 1st July.

You guys are fucking mental and often I feel like I've accidently logged into a blue version of RAWK

edit: I've gone back to 14/15 season and so far this is the first time they've ever made June signings

I get that, but I do feel it is a fair price for what he has now developed into.
