Tricky one, because at his very peak he's showed the ability of a world class centre back. But you're right in the fact that he has never had a season which has been at the level of a Vertonghen or Alderweireld season. It's the consistency / application that he has not shown. His peak is very very high level, however.

Better than either of those two though? Not for me.

Hahaha what fucking planet are you on seriously? 35 million for Romero? We fucking bought him for over 40 million years ago. He’s a World Cup winner, just put in a man of the match performance in a European cup final.

Transfermarkt has him at about EUR 50 M which is close to GBP 35 M.

Unfortunately, I don't think we're getting anywhere close to 70 m or it would've been a done deal already.

Let's see if you actually delete your account the day he's going for less.
 
One things for sure- the closer he gets to walking on a free, the less we can expect him to risk his body, and he’s already pretty bad about that. With the economy so shitty I can easily see no one stepping up to overpay Levy for his signature.
 
Yeah nobody is paying a huge fee. Because as much as people parrot ‘World Cup winner’ he’s not viewed as one of the best centre backs in the world or one of the top prospects either. He’s just a good cb with some upsides and downsides.

I just hope he’s enough of a ‘winner’ to pull himself together and be professional. It’s obvious he wants out and will run down that contract. And he was a mess for large parts of last season, handing the opposition goals. Mainly due to stupid mistakes.

I will modify my behaviour when THFC have owners that behave in a manner befitting the status of our great club by signing the best players and paying the best wages.

ENIC, Levy and the Levy fanbois / stasi on here are more boring and predictable than my observations.

So how are the club going to get round the problem of his family not settling in England.
I have worked with people who would work in London then fly home Friday afternoon but that won't work for Cutey as games are played at weekends.
