Im not deciding what gets debated bro - I'm simply saying that starting from a position of bias creates a false reality and makes an opinion pretty much null and void.
It really doesn’t everybody has certain biases , well certainly most people , it does not make all there opinions on that topic null and void . People have political bias , it does not invalidate there opinions , their views can be challenged but their opinions are valid .
I don’t want to get into politics on here as I left that thread a while ago. Suffice to say I have a massive dislike / bias against Trump , does not mean my thoughts on him are not cogent and valid. Someone can argue the opposite but their opinion carries no more validity than mine .

All correct but on this and other forums there are still some who hanker over the old place, really not sure why. There are some who waffle on about it not being a football stadium , giant cockerel on the stand, The Dispensary, The White Hart and The Shelf bars, Spurs photos and murals all over the place , I just don't know what people are talking about and the scenes outside the stadium for the parade were just brilliant couldn't have done that at the old place.

PS Lets not forget we only got the multi purpose because of Archway Metals holding up the build , the first planned stadium didn't have the sliding pitch etc.

Nostalgia tax

They associated the stadium with what we did that season and think that it's all been downhill since exclusively because of the new stadium.

Well, look, we don't have to talk politics.

In the case of Levy, if you start from a baseline of

'I hate the guy and I think everything he does is self-serving'

Then your opinion on anything he does is already assumed and, in my opinion, your ability to have a nuanced discussion about his actions is compromised.

If you start from a position of 'I love Daniel Levy and he can do no wrong' then I would feel the same.

If however one starts from a baseline of - he does some good shit does some bad shit but i have no preconcieved opinion of his actions until I learn about and consider them in context - then your opinion is more valid than the others.

There is a HUGE misconception in general about all opinions on things being equal.

They are't - some opinions do not deserve the same weight as others - why - because they are coming from a place of closed-mindedness from people unwilling to put their own biases aside - like MAGA, for example.

A more than fair post. Not enough for me to be arsed finding an applause gif (we know how popular those are on this thread), but close.

Of course bias comes into opinion. A bit chicken and egg. What came first, the bias or the opinion? But it’s entirely natural.

My beef is when opinion is dressed up as fact. Recent example being a discussion on this thread about the famous book passage about ENIC buying Rangers. Just because they said it was purely financial then, doesn’t equate to them feeling the same about buying us. And stating that it does as a fact, holds no water. It’s an opinion.

I’m perfectly happy with anyone that wants ENIC to sell. Christ, a cursory glance at the voting above would tell you I’m in that boat myself. I’m more than ready to worship our new Middle Eastern overlords. But if anyone is ENIC out and they want to shout facts on here, make sure they are actually facts.

Too many made up sticks on here to beat ENIC and Levy with, when there are plenty of actual baseball bats hanging round to do the job instead.

I said I was taking a break from this topic for a while as I’m sure we are boring the readers . So I will try and make this my last post today on this topic.

So did I dislike Levy and ENIC day one? No
In fact after Sugar like most fans I welcomed them with open arms . Did I dislike him day 2 through day 1500 not really . However my bias is born out of what I believe to be a guy who has had 25 years and been largely useless at delivering on the football side . ( surely the main thing fans should care about) Notwithstanding I loved the EL success as any fan should . I think he has been disingenuous with managers , not particularly good at hiring them either , arguably 2 or 3 out of 15 strike rate . I think he has garnered a reputation for being difficult to negotiate with and not a man to be trusted
So this is a bias that from my perspective at least Levy has unintentionally cultivated with me , Because if I had no bias , in fact was initially positive my original change of view was not born out of bias . It was an unbiased realisation he is a bit shit at delivering football success .

I see they're circling the wagons on you Ed.

Don't leave town yet.

Your contributions are never boring.

I wouldn’t say I hanker for the old stadium, but I do miss it. Love the new one, but got some great memories from WHL.

You can miss the old, but appreciate the new at the same time.
It's called progress I suppose...to me (to you) the OWHL once regarded as our home was a fit for purpose football ground that could be quite intimidating to opposition visitors when it wanted to be whereas the Tottenham Hotspur stadium is a (breathtakingly beautiful) purpose built events arena which we use among others on a perennial basis.

The new stadium is still our stadium, no matter how many events are held there and no matter how often the simple of mind seem to misunderstand the words “anchor tenant”.

It’ll seem more like home with every passing season, with every memory created.

Another myth though isn't it, the old ground has it's moments and got loud especially when the team were doing well but the best atmosphere we've had in the new ground was when we beat Woolwich 3-0 to pip them to a Champions League spot.

Once again the reason why the new stadium hasn't been as loud is because for the most part we've had barely anything to get behind, fleeting moments under Conte in his first season and the first 2-3 months of Ange, since then it's been poor...this is nothing to do with the stadium and everything to do with team performance and fan connection.

Let's not act like the old WHL was always loud, there was plenty of times we had to sit through AVB ball bored out of our tits because the football was dead and there was nothing to get behind.

People miss the old stadium because we were mostly good the last 10 years we were there. Last few seasons we were 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 5th, 4th, 5th 4th. We were watching players like Berbatov, Modric, Bale, Van Der Vaart, Eriksen, Dembele, Kane and Son.

Since we moved into the new stadium we've been 6th, 7th, 4th 8th, 5th 17th. Other than Kane and Son who were already here we've seen no great players, no real memories other than the 3-0 over Woolwich under Conte and perhaps the 1st leg against City in the CL. Its probably less about the stadium but people have no real connection because we've been average to poor. As a club we just dont seem to have much of an identity anymore.

Levy said he wants to Win the Premier League.... What's Levy done to Prove that he wants our TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR FC To Win The Best League in the World?!?!?! Levy does Nothing to make the necessary procurements to facilitate Spurs Winning it All....
Levy OUT!!!!

They've been on a massive drive to beef up the measly 15% Levy IN vote these last few days. It's been absolutely relentless.

They had a bit of minimal success in the first few days, flipping 4 or 5 people, but now seem to have hit a solid brick wall again.

Must be very frustrating for them
