Another experienced player we can sell and replace with some random youngsters from the LMNOP league.
....not if we can get some decent money from Gala for him...
Anything around £30m which isn't out of the question, we could DEFINITELY put it towards funding THAT player....
Plus it frees up a squad place for Europe doesn't it ? (I'm still not sure how it works...)
Feels like We're struggling to get one or two names in that qualify for CL squad, yet Chelsea are signing everyone, have a squad of 50+ players without a care in the world for quotas or PSR it seems!

hahahahaha oh yous a funny muthafucka, is you chris tucker?

Well factually Eze was less productive than Maddison last season.

So what do you like about him? Is he a better passer? I don’t think so.

He’s a better dribbler but kudus is the best in the prem for that….

Eze is a great player but he’s not what we need. I don’t understand why you think dropping 70m on him wouldnt impact what we could spend on areas of much greater need.
Depends what you call a better dribbler. Eze does it effectively for the team. Might beat one, open up space and release it. Kudos just dribbles for himself. Might look better on stats but frustrating to play with and watch and definitely not as effective

I think any potential candidature on my part is probably wishful thinking at this stage.

Now the follow-up, which I've just started, that's another story, in a very real and meaningful sense.

:frankpoint2:
Good luck to you Bill. Everyone has a story in them, just that most of us never write it.

I started my own novel about 15 years ago. Then I read a series by an author called Mark Chadbourne, which was practically the same premise as mine so, in a fit of despondency, I quit.

My daughter has encouraged me to take it up again as she loves the plot, but work prevents me from devoting the time it deserves.

Maybe when I retire ...

Of course it would, but such is the proven-ness and certainty premium of Eze over all available alternatives (because he COMBINES creative passing, dribbling ability, and goal threat, and has done so in the PL for many years) that I'm locking that move in and taking my chances elsewhere.

If there were a Rolls-Royce 6 sitting there waiting to be bought for 70M I'd be singing a different tune. But there isn't. What Eze offers isn't fungible that way.

You’ve made a good case for him.

That matters! Decent chance that swamps his ability as a player over the course of his career. That's already the case for his PL career thus far, and honestly may be a significant reason such an exciting player is at West Ham in the first place.

We should of course do our research, maybe he's just a bit misunderstood. But if that's true, why are we the lucky club getting a cut-price deal? This reeks of Levy penny-wise, pound-foolish decision making.

Again, I don't want to TOTALLY disregard concerns around positional fit and dominant feet and all of that. I just feel strongly that given the choice between "is Kudus a shithead?" or "is Eze going to be out of position?", I am taking the latter concern every day of the week.

And I think that's ESPECIALLY true with Thomas Frank, well documented for both his work with interchanging and flank-swapping with jack-of-all-trades type forwards and his "no wankers" policy.

If I was getting Kudus for 20M or something where I get a huge chunk of money to put towards a 6 or whatever I would be tempted, because Kudus is a top talent. But for vaguely similar money? Easy decision, IMO.
Is Kudus a top talent
