Player Heung-Min Son (손흥민)

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Sonny had a bad season, his worst. Yet he was still our most productive front player - with 16 goal involvement ( goals and assists).
Even at this age he is better than Solanke.
Unless we can get ridiculous money for him - I would keep until January.
See how he starts and the new players do - including Tel and Odobert

A forward line of Johnson, Solanke and Richarlison is a horror show. We don't want to line up with two of them in the team too often.
If you wasn't so wrong you'd actually be right.

Hes still drunk from the final. Clean cut to
happy father ted GIF

If he does stay, does anyone think we'll see his performances go up under a manager that doesn't ask his wingers to be touchline all the time?

His strength has always been cutting in and running onto through balls. I know he's slowed down, but surely a change of system might see him as one of the best LW in the league again?

I think almost all players in general should go up a few levels under new manager, however with Sonny some of that will be offset by being a year older.
His pace certainly seems to have dropped and I doubt that will improve.

His shooting ability would still be there. Under Ange we didn't see Sonny take a shot out of the box much because he has been playing out wide but we all know he scores his best goals from there.

hes lost sharpness in his legs, which you do after 30. it will be the same old stuff, hell get the ball and he wont have the leg power to get enough distance from a defender to get a clean shot away. hes had his time, its time to move on, its football.

The idea that Ange had our wide men welded to the touchline is a bit of a myth. He was still mostly arriving in the semi-circle.

Sonny's just lost a lot of his dynamism and acceleration.

Sonny was doing fine until late last year before he was over worked. I just watched some highlights, including the Newcastle match beginning of 2025, and his pace was there. He had to deal with a nagging foot injury through most of 2025. If new game plans, time management, and full injury recovery can bring 80% of the old Sonny, he will still be an elite level, if not a world class. I am hopeful.

All the noise is that he will be moved on. Presumably so we can get some money for him. Like you, I’d keep him. I think it’s worth potentially having those world class moments in a team that is very average and pedestrian.

Lets be honest; the cunts in our fanbase will just rip him to shreds if he's anything less than what they want him to be....

He deserves better than what he will receive if he prolongs his stay here during his decline.

Yeah sentimentality fc right here
I agree. We should cash in and reinvest the money. People keep saying that we didn’t play to his strengths under Ange but there were times when he found himself in space and he tried to put the afterburners on and he got caught up. That wouldn’t have happened 2-3 years ago and that was one of his key strengths. His ball retention is pretty poor as well. He has been a great servant to us but if we hold onto him the chances are he will be worth a lot less in 12 months time. Perfect time for Son to move on for all concerned.

I read recently that Mourinho wants Son at his team in Turkey.
