No chance.

Gyokeres has played 3 seasons in more physical championship and scoring at well for lowly Coventry. I cant see him flopping. But I dont think he scores at same rate in PL. He probably scores between 15 to 20 goals minimum for them

There's no 2 ways about it... Gykores IS a big risk... Esp. at his age, predominant lack of top flight experience, price and wage demands (rumour being 300kpw).

I know. It's not a new one.

I think sammyspurs had his targets on me from the first moment I said I didn't rate Hugo some 12 years ago on here. Just a hill I'll die on. As awful as Vic has been from corners and all that, it feels like he's been coached on it. Hugo has an uncoachable erratic aspect to his game, and there's no doubt a good reason why no one ever tried to take him off us

I'd agree probably none of this first XI gets into the peak Poch side (there's a case to be made for Johnson vs Lamela/Lucas I would argue, Johnson feeding off the intelligence of Kane and the work rate of peak Son would probably double his already decent output), but the side Poch inherited was probably weaker than the one we are handing to Frank.
What is peak Poch? something like the below? 4-2-3-1

Lloris
Walker Alderwiereld Vertonghen Rose
Dembele Wanyama
Eriksen Ali Son
Kane

Back 4 positions are all debatable and maybe you could argue someone for Wanyama/Winks/Sissoko in midfield. Definitely no player is a certainty to get in anyway. 5 positions that you argue would be close.

Can't help but feel if this was our pursuit of the player it would be being spun as a negative. "only went for him because Sesko was too pricey", "haggling over 2m euros/season, just pay the fucking money" etc.

So what.

They are buying what they need, and we are waiting to unveil our big summer signing from West Ham. Oh fcuking joy.

Spin or no spin, we are excreting inferior in every sense.

Players want to join them hence the alleged surrender of salt.

🤷‍♂️

So not only are Arse not prepared to meet the reported asking price (similar to some "tight bald cunt") of £69m (even though Sporting have already lowered it from the OG release clause); this would still mean roughly £14m per year (rather than the reported £15.6m) wages...... Big deal.

The token wage drop is cos he's desperate....... He's already burned his bridges there.

It's a really interesting situation.

I'm a believer in the player, but there is definitely an opposing view, and if he will indeed be a gooner I hope they're right.
