😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂the old KWP shout again. Ok let’s sign an average player just because he’s HG!! That’s ambition right there😂😂😂
Ok, lets sign two players for either side at £30m each who arent HG. In what alternate reality does that happen at this club?

Ambition is best shown elsewhere at this stage, like players who will improve the first XI and the bench. We arent even talking a potential bench player here, just squad. Spunking loads of "ambitious" money on players that will barely play? Yeah great idea

It's just plain fact, we all know what the club is capable of doing, BUT we all know well and good what the club actually does under ENIC.
There is no 'should be setting our heights higher' and getting angry that we aren't going for big names on big wages. There's just the reality of our situation.
we just don't do that, doesn't matter if we finish 2nd, or 17th. win nothing or win the Europa league, we have our pond that we swim in. And it's not were Man City, Liverpool, Arse and Chelsea live

That is actually a great role for Paratici - selling players. He loves a deal and gets deals doen quickly.
It’s the misers biggest blind spot too. It’s crippled us over the last 5-10 years…..always dragging out sales for every last quid, instead sell and move on quickly (within reason).

Hurts us more than his failure to pay up for the top players

United likely to cough up around 70m for Mbeumo when rodrygo would likely be secured for 90m is bonkers imo. Of coarse he would have no interest in United.

That's the one player I really do hope Woolwich DONT sign. I think he's an incredible player, so under rated compared to mbappe and vini.

We need a superstar like that, but can only dream. This is what drives the few top players we have had away from the club. We get the odd one bloom here and there sporadically but they look around the changing room and see that the odds of the rest of the group being able to achieve what they could as very unlikely so move on.

This summer we needed even just 2 established top players to come in, it's looking unlikely at this point.

Worrying that there are little to no credible links to a No. 6 and another midfielder. We have needed a No.6 for many a year and with Kulu out and only Maddison left to create, another similar type is essential.

Reckon Kudus drags on and don't put it past Levy trying to rinse Spammers if no one else is interested, let's just hope it doesn't end up like Grealish did a few yrs ago.

Pre season just around the corner, could do with getting your wallet out DL.
bro the preason starting is just the next phase of levy's leverage soon to be followed by 'the season has started' and then 'the window is closing' which will all culminate in 'we'll get him much cheaper in january' and 'no one sells in january'

it's a masterclass in negotiation really :levystare:

Always good to see another pre-season getting underway. I'm glad we have a very comprehensive coaching setup and all of frank is wanting.
Exciting to see what progression cochrane can make with the younger players we have. Despite being so downbeat about our transfer strategies I'm happy we made the choices we did regarding the coach and setup. It felt so headless chicken under ange.

Edit...

I wouldn't be surprised at all if we started slow. We have quite a few players that we bought under ange that although are talented have never experienced this level of coaching. It's likely alot for those players to consistently do what is asked and grasp it fully and many mistakes will be made. There's alot of potential growth though that is for sure.

Just a shame about yet another Spurs manager being let down by his hierarchy

Yes perhaps. We dont know what has been agreed by frank with levy. Id assume there's quite a few in our squad that frank does need to assess to see where they stand and how far off they are but our weaknesses are very obvious and yes they should be acted upon ASAP with proven quality not young rough diamonds. If we take that route then things will collapse before we even had a chance of taking off.
I have said before that there's 1 or 2 players In our squad that many don't like that I think frank will love, bentancur for one. I can see why possibly we have to move bissouma on first before buying a cm as we already have bergvall, bentancur, sarr, gray as the cms this coming season. I just hope we target the right players otherwise we will get schooled in the Champions league.

isn't that fairly standard procedure for big clubs - Real Madrid do it and United used to in the Fergie days back when they were relevant
sure but i don't think it's as common with lesser clubs. we're the lower tier of the giants so not sure top players are really that anxious to get out there and say tottenham 'til i die just so we can save a few quid when we're likely low balling them on wages too. a lot of these players don't want bad blood on the way out and likely want their current club to make as much as possible from the sale. does kudus really want to become even more of a villain by being seen as forcing the sale to a rival? i don't know, a classier club tries to shield the player rather than pressuring him to go out and flog the sale. (if that's what's happening here)

The hell does SHARE THE GOALS mean?! . They is no such thing as "hey! you score now I will score next! okay?"
A player that can score will score goals no matter what. Kane and Son was proof of that. Don't care how he does it, just do it.
I don't care how good his pressing is, a striker is nothing without goals. Raise your damn standards.

It means what it says.

Football is a TEAM game which is clearly news to you.

So we have 5 players who each have scored or assisted 20+ goals last season. That is sharing the load on goal scoring and providing assists for a team mate to score.

Under Poch for 4 or 5 seasons we had 4 players who got 20+ goals and assists in Kane, Son, Eriksen and Dele, so last season we did one better. But its all about team work ,..... and sharing the load.
