Well the Forest journalists are now reporting that MGW is expected to begin pre-season training today. If he shows up and does the training session then that would indicate that we are still a bit away from completing this deal.

I'm not worried about MGW staying at Forest. He clearly wants to leave and join us. However, I am very concerned about this deal being hijacked by Man City or Chelsea. They are now both aware of the release clause of 60m and could offer MGW more wages than us to agree personal terms. The longer we hang about, the bigger this danger becomes.

No way he should show up today if they feel they've done nothing wrong and Forest are fucking them.

i dont see how you can stop it. you can only delay it.
the contract is legally binding , we met the release clause and thats that. anything else is speculation/or educated guess that confidentiality was breached. unless they have levy/lange in 4k with MGW's agent then i dont see what can be done

Not really. I imagine him and his agents are in constant contact with Lange/Vinai, etc. They will be telling him to stay calm, don’t make any public statements, go into training if he’s supposed to. Essentially don’t give the fat fuck any more things to whine about.

Yeah, that is the other side to it. Forest probably want to fine him if he doesn't show up! It feels like they are just desperate to make any few quid they can to add to that 60m. They are probably hoping MGW waivers any owed money to him or Spurs pay a small settlement just to speed up the process.

I think Levy smells blood though. He won't give them an inch and he'll make sure thats how it gets reported once the deal is complete too.

Yeah Marinakis is cut from the same cloth as Trump. He’s essentially a gangster who likes to bully and shape narratives. Just don’t give him anything else to latch on to. Get the Premier League onside and he’ll eventually have to cave.
 
That Himothy guy (who clearly has info because he dropped the Bergvall injury news before anyone) said we are waiting for Forest to cool off. I hope we get an update today, but maybe we consider the ball to be in Forest's court.

Chelsea and Man City knew the release clause anyway. The agents would have let them all know. I’m not sure Chelsea or city need him and that’s print why no bid has been made for him.
 
I don’t think it’s bad news for you if he turns up to training today, to be fair to him, he is very professional. Hes still under contract with Forest. Will be majorly awkward for him though 😂. Smartest thing to do would be for Nuno to put his arm around him and take him into his office to discuss. If he’s 100% committed to spurs then both club and player need to work together amicably.
