I think the fact there has been no comments from our club after being accused of tapping up a player illegally , tells you everything you need to know . Levy and co walking away with their tales between their legs . And when the window shuts I’m sure we’ll all be saying the same thing . “What happened to the £60m gibbs white money we never spent “
The thing is, the reporting we have suggests Forest's position is something like the following:

1. Spurs bid the exact amount of MGW's release clause (more complex than just an exact 60M? Who knows) which is information they could not have had absent access to confidential information in the contract.

2. To have gotten that confidential release clause information means by definition Spurs engaged with the player without Forest's permission against Premier League rules, and therefore

3. Forest will not recognize or sanction the release clause as it pertains to Spurs

Both the accused party there and the injured party legally speaking from Forest's reaction are Morgan Gibbs-White.

Which is not to say Spurs shouldn't go on the offensive, we should and must. But it's Gibbs-White that has the greater ability and necessity of doing so.

Forest are in violation of his contract. He and his agents should be screaming bloody murder.

Unless they've done something wrong?

Forest haven’t submitted a complaint to the PL so using it as a negotiating threat.

They can’t have long left to drag this out before MGW and Stellar agency start causing them problems

I think that is genuinely it. They probably know they can’t win a legal battle.

It’s harder to prove we ‘cheated’ than we didn’t. I think it’s a case of trying look big and get another £5-10m out of us.

For a football financial expert, that Mr Bean bloke's thinking is quite muddled. I could do his job.

It’a hilarious really isn’t it?

We trigger a release clause..

Forest say no, because it’s a secret clause. We’ll report you. But if you give us more money we’ll forget about it.

We literally triggered the fee. We legally don’t have to pay anymore. Forest have to literally prove we came across the information illegally. If the agent offered it up then it’s between the agent and Forest.

If a player or agent reveals they want to come to your club and here's what the release clause amount is that doesn't equate to the club inducing the player to leave his team (which Forest seems to be saying Spurs did). Forest could sue the player or the agent, the unintended consequence is it might make it more difficult to sign players going forward. But where's the case against Spurs?

Surely any player at Forest is now talking to their agent about how they could leave in the future? Why would you want to be held at ransom because an owner can't handle being outwitted?
