Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Fair enough, I’m not expert enough to know the difference

But they surely wouldn’t be paying transfer fees in one lump?

Payments (instalments, one offs what ever) are the actual physical acts of paying from company to company - bank to bank, amortisation is an accounting process that adjusts the depreciation value of an asset owned by a company, year by year for accounting purposes (ie assets held, as opposed to cash at bank).

I know this BuLi v PL and adjustments have to be made, and Wharton is HG, but Wharton will also cost probably double the fee and wages.

I'm really surprised nobody has shown solid moves for Stiller, although I know RM were sniffing and I get why, he's not Modric never will be, but he's kind of from the same stylistic family.

eg:

While they match up on these charts i struggle to see the similarities in style.. maybe as Modric has got older but Modric at Stiller's age was a completely different player to what he is now.

I would be very happy with Stiller or Wharton though but with if MGW comes in, I don't see us getting another midfielder unless we sell a couple.

I do wonder why no one is really putting much attention on this.

They were a 1 point-per-game team under Amorim, and he's obviously starting the season with them, and as much as people have been obsessing over Mbuembo, they still have an awful defence, calamity keeper, and lack an effective set of forwards
That’s why they’re after emi Martinez

Ah Dr Strangelove. One of my favourite movies. Thanks for the reminder

If MGW falls through it may be worth putting in a bid for Simmons, though I have reservations about him coping with the epl. He would be about the same price. Leipzig have set the price between 60 and 70 mil euro

Maybe stylistically was the wrong word, more in terms of what they deliver to a team, and how they deliver it in terms of areas and execution. As I said, he is not, and never will be Modric, and no two players are ever identical, but he can play similar remits and deliver similar transitional benefits, whilst also being diligent without the ball.

Vickery saying Palmeiras have money from club World Cup and Richy move might just happen

Might just be possible, I have my doubts as Richy probably sees the opportunity to go back to Brazil in 3 or 4 years time, not to mention the idea of Palmeiras paying us anything like £50m is pie in the sky, firstly they are not going to splurge the entirety of their CWC winnings on one player, they are sure to put a substantial amount of that figure into paying up debts early to avoid interest or putting towards running costs etc, the biggest stumbling block to this deal happening are the wages though, best guess from sources online suggest Fluminense are paying their top earners in the region of £25-30k/week, around 1/3rd of Richy's £90k/week wages.
I think he would view going back to Brazil as a failure at this point anyway, I have doubts we can shift him until he can actually stay fit for a stretch of games directly prior to a transfer window and play well. His metrics are quite good when he is on the pitch so there is a good chance we could sell him to a club with a striker crisis in january for decent cash if we can get him playing through December to raise interest, but I can't see anything happening with him this Summer considering the complete lack of game time he had last season due to injury. Whatever we bring in for him has to be substantial enough to go towards replacing him in the squad so if we only get derisory offers expect him to stay and we roll the dice that Frank can keep him fit and get the best out of him, at the very least with a view to getting a half decent fee for him in Jan or next summer.
