Imagine my surprise that those making demands are the same lot that have excused every miserable league defeat for the last 16 months. 28 losses in 49 league games. Suffice it to say if Frank has a record like that at any point he should be sacked as well.
If over the next two seasons he ends up with a League record like that, but wins a trophy or two, I personally will be calling for him to stay.

In fact if he wins the Supercup next month, I'll be all for keeping him, even if he only just avoids relegation at the end of May.

You can flip that around as well though. People who were slaughtering Ange now saying we can't be too harsh judging Frank early on. Basically fans are unreasonable people.

Same criteria as far as i'm concerned. If he loses a shit load of matches then he should be sacked. No Tottenham manager under any circumstances should be 17th or anywhere near it whether its Postecoglou or Frank.

The agendas are stinky, I don't know why people can't just wipe the slate clean and forget about our previous manager.

At the end of the day I will give my full support to Frank, like I did for Ange until the wheels fall off 😎

We finished 9th the season before Martin Jol took us to 5th.

We ended up in 8th prior to Ange's first season and then sold one of our greatest ever players. Doesn't seem that much different to me.

Kane would have left the club no matter who had come in as the new gaffer and whoever it was, he knew that he had to work without Kane.

We were 4th in the league after Conte’s last game with us, albeit having played two games more that the 5th placed team at that time (but its points in the bag that counts), despite Conte having had to go through an emotional time with the passing of two close friends of his. (I’m not a fan of Conte, by the way).

We ended up the season in 8th mainly because of Stellini / Mason.

Are you comparing Ange with Stellini / Mason?

Wait... you are actually considering the Supercup a trophy? I'd put as much stock in that as winning a pre-season tournament.

Do UEFA, the only body that counts in such matters, regard it as an official trophy?

They do, and their take is infinitely more important than any stock that you or I might put in it.
Every other club that's won it counts it as part of their trophy haul too, unlike say the Charity Shield.

It may not be as prestigious as the Champions League or the Europa, but it's still a European trophy and winning it would get Thomas Frank's regime off to a flying start.

Unironically, the Charity Shield game is the domestic version of the Supercup lol

Now, I don't disagree that it would be a wonderful way to kick off the Thomas Frank regime and that we should try to win it.

I think he didn't.

The EUFA cup in the past was pretty much as hard to win as the old European Cup. One would have Real, the other Barca. One Celtic, the other Rangers. Whoever finished 2nd in Italy, Germany, Portugal. Around the time we won it beating Anderlecht, Forest won the European cup against the mighty Malmö. El Tel's Barca blew it v Steua Bucharest. When we won it previously we met Inter Milan in the semis.

Anyway..

That last iteration of the Europa Cup - there were Spurs fans who booked flights and hotels in Bilbao LAST SEPTEMBER when it was clear it was 90% minnows and we were favourites even then. MU 2nd faves, and they'd kept that clown Ten Hag after the flukiest FA cup win that I can remember, and I've been watching finals since 1967. We lucked out big time with the draw. Bodo in the semis and avoiding MU and Atletic Bilbao. And lucking out that MU beat them too. We couldn't even get the better of fucking Rangers FFS. Far from it, they were the better team that night, no question.

Finally did he win it? Really?

Why do you think his "tactics" were thrown out the window in Europe? Nothing to do with the players declaring UDI and saying this is how we do it boss? I wouldn't out it past Levy to tell him to wise up as the winner would get CL next season.

The route to the final? I'd say Eintracht was the only decent team we faced. The home tie was a really good performance. Only 1-1 but we hit the woodwork 3 times, very unlucky. But every other game was either against minnows or a poor performance.

The final? That's the worst winning match I've seen us play in 60 years. Delighted at the win of course, but it got us out of jail big time. And no way could we use that as a blueprint to beat teams in the PL which is the best measure of how good we are.

The league position tells you how good you are over 9 months. Cups might only tell you how easy a route you have.

We can all see things differently but still all be correct.

I think Ange realised he was in the last chance saloon ,so changed his style as a short term measure to try and save his job.

Was getting rid pf Ange the right thing to do. Well never know, but we'll soon get a good indication

If he really changed, he would’ve changed across the board, not just in the Europa.

He changed there because he knew deep down his system allows goals for fun, and we’d have been knocked out if we just kept on playing his preferred style.
