Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Showing up to Portugal is just tragic. Thought he'd stick around and attempt to force the move. I've gone off the whole thing tbh. I actually don't care if it falls though now. Such a waist of 2 weeks and he's not helping
There’s clearly no interest from other clubs.

We should give Forest a firm deadline for the deal to happen and move on if it’s not met.

They’ll be left with a pissed off depreciating asset and we really don’t need this hold up defining our transfer window.

Exactly. There was even news the other day that Forest offered him to City who just said no.

I can see Forest try to delay this for as long as possible but they will have to cave eventually.

Why would he have to cave eventually? If he's not honoring the supposed legally binding contract terms now why would he change in the future, it's clearly working for him

Hope we get it done

We aren’t winning anything this coming season. New manager needs to settle in and we have an underperforming squad. No matter who we buy between now and the season isn’t going to mean we can win anything.

Maybe in that case, it’s worth looking at the likes of Palhinha, Garnacho, Grealish on loan for the season, instead of pumping money into the squad for a manager who hasn’t proven he deserves the investment. Only on the understanding, we then pull a Liverpool and have a pretty tight window or two, before going bat shit crazy when the manager proves he deserves it.

End of the day, if we don’t sign him then objectively we were the ones who fucked it up
Not necessarily.

If you’ve got an obstinate owner and a player not willing to kick up a fuss what do you do?

By the time the PL have made a decision the window will be closed.

The information has obviously come from the player’s agent so the fault ultimately lies with them. That’s potentially why MGW’s reps aren’t kicking up a stink.

It's confusing to me, but it appears the person who has standing to enforce their rights is the player. Spurs don't have an agreement to enforce. If Gibbs-White doesn't take action to enforce the release clause it all seems to be a moot point, unless Maranakis decides he wants him out and can't find another buyer Gibbs-White would come to terms with. I would think Spurs will sign someone at that position, but are willing to wait until the end of the window to move on to an alternative. No doubt they would be talking to agents and other teams already just in case nothing else happens with him.

Here we go

After several failed attempts down the years, Tottenham have reached agreement with Coritiba for the signing of Leandro Damião da Silva dos Santos. The 36 year old will join up with his new teammates in Hong Kong at the end of the month.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

:frankfacepalm:
Damião retired last year, I shed a tear.

We really ought to invite him to play in a testimonial sometime and get him in the kit. I'm sure those replicas would fly off the racks.
