Isak tells Newcastle he wants to leave so assume pool will get him. They are having a window spurs fans couldn't even dream about and here we are with a new manager with only one proper new signing so far.
Just goes to show not all American owners are bad news for clubs
Pool just got Ekitike they won't get Isak as well.

United? PSG? Madrid? Not many out there who could get him now that Liverpool are out of the mix.

Apparently Slot thinks Ekitike can play across the front 3 or as a second striker, so they’re still in for Isak sadly

Don't Gray and Devine play in different positions though? If anything Bergvall is the one who's taken his place and I'm not really sure anyone can argue against that signing.

I think if players were good enough they'd show it either out on loan or at the club, hand on heart I don't think anyone can really say Devine's been outstanding, he's shown glimpses and he has talent but it's not enough.

Donley is ahead of him and even he won't make it with us, the bar is very high in this league.

Moore is the only one who I've seen and would probably say there's something there but I think he needs a year away.

I think we as fans have a hard time accepting that a lot of our young'uns aren't good enough to play at the highest level for us.
mate I'm not talking about what type of midfielders they are. They're both CMs and yes different types but you've got to understand how it works.

No manager in this league would be willing to give numerous youngsters a chance in the same position at the same time. The 35m spent on Gray (and the 10m on Bergval) killed any chance of Donely and Devine realistically making any sort of impact at this club. All these loans are designed to increase market value so they can be sold and nothing else (adopting the exact same tactics we all slagged chavski off for).

exactly the same with the CB position where we sign numerous young players, same with the striker position. The fact is 90% of these 'exciting' kids we sign will never be given a chance. Look at Scarlett, he played well and scored In a game, then assisted in another game, then randomly got dropped never to be seen again because we have invested in Tel and despite Tel not looking particularly good he was always going to be given chance after chance to look good whilst the player that scored in a game, assisted in th another, gets discarded never to be seen again.

Don't know about Donely but Devine is good.

Cannot believe the consternation towards Palhinha. He’s not perfect but the things he’s good at, he’s REALLY good at, and Frank knows exactly how to get the best from a player like him.

He’s a floor raiser and someone who will keep us in big matches. He’s a time and space eater. He is a fucking cunt in the best way. He will keep us attached and keep us from getting overrun in big CL matches or vs the likes of Slot’s Liverpool who absolutely demolished us and scored 4 5 6 goals under Ange.

You need experienced fighters to compete in CL and at 30 he’s still got a lot left to give. He’d singlehandedly keep Fulham in big matches two years ago, that didn’t desert him. I don’t want a long term deal but I’m sure we can work something cheap out.

Ask these three questions: does he give our squad a profile that it is lacking? Yes. Can he start and help us vs elite competition? Yes. Can he be gotten without breaking the bank? Yes.

It’s a yes from me. It should be a yes universally.

I get what you're saying about market value but the fact is though in these situations cream rises to the top and if said player is good enough then they'll find themselves in and around the first team more often than not, it's that simple.

We just need to be honest with ourselves, 90% of players who come straight out of our youth academy aren't making it staight to the first team, it's a pipe dream for a lot of young players especially in the Prem if that were to happen. To be a young player you have to be potentially outstanding and I haven't seen many in our academy that stand out apart from Moore and even he will struggle to hold down a first team spot.

I get why we are signing these young players who are coveted to be stars, because we used to miss out on these players and they ended up at at teams like Brighton and we'd be priced out if we wanted to take them off their hands.

Why?

There's about 5 players in front of him in the 10 role and let's be real he isn't near the first team.

Probably best to sell and have a buy back clause.

Devine can, and has, played as both a 10 and as a deep lying playmaker (think Michael Carrick)., so he's versatile which managers like as it gives them options especially if there are injuries.

In E youth where E u19 manager had a lot of CM's Devine was often used as LW or RW and despite being played out of his natural position, was often regarded as one of the best players in the E u19 side.
