Sarr is a bang average player.

If we were a big club with the season we just had, we would buy wharton, rodrygo and simons. As a fucking statement. As much a kick up the ass to our squad (who should be embarrassed by last season’s domestic form) as a statement to everyone else in the game
Wharton has years left on his deal at a club he joined a year ago who are anticipating losing their 2 best players in Eze and Guehi this summer, probably for massive fees meaning they are not a willing seller. Rodrygo doesn't want to join Tottenham Hotspur, and you can probably say the same for Simons.
The MGW rejection should be a real slap-in-the-face level wake up call for people in terms of how attractive a destination we are. They have just swayed him to stay with wages we realistically could have improved upon. He had a clause and was just a means of finding the right fee. We won a cup but we finished 17th, we were a fucking shambles last season and I reckon we struggle to attract players who aren't in a come-and-get-me situation like Kudus this summer to be honest, players will happily stay put and wait and see what we look like under Frank rather than tie themselves to a project with more questions than answers for the foreseeable future. It can't have gone unnoticed how many players came here for big money and with big hype and were deemed so shit by the time they left no one wants them even for free. We will surely get 2 more in the door by August 31st but I think we're going to be forced to see what Frank can do with what we currently have in the squad, by and large.

Baleba and Mitoma would go a long way to sorting us out. Ready made players who you know would most likely hit the ground running.

Yes they'd cost a bomb, but when you really want to improve your first eleven, in positions badly needed, that's what you have to do.

You just never, ever, get the feeling we'd be prepared to fully commit to sorting out our issues and really going for it .

And until that changes we simply won't change in a significant way.
Nothing changes until everything changes.

If we got this guy and went crazy for the #6 like a Baleba level player, I think the summer would have been salvageable. Although, I’m not sure you can play El Khannouss in the 8 like MGW and I’m not sure Baleba adds much passing from #6.

Pal...Takai, (Danso), Baleba, Leicester kid, Kudus & (Tel) is still a proper shite window and nowhere near enough. I mean it'd be laughable if it wasn't such a friggin disgrace.

Also, 6 recruits and not one Englishman? Fuck that, even Chelsea & Woolwich do better these days.

I just think we need to start acting like a big club would

We could've signed a top keeper, Guehi/Bastoni, Robinson/Grimaldo, Barella/Kovacic, MGW/Eze, Nico/Rodrygo AND Isak/Osimhen/Kane...and our wage-to-turnover ratio + PSR and all that numbers shit would still be plenty fine.

FML.

We missed the boat on that one unfortunately, time to do that was when players around the world actually saw us as a big club, under any of Poch, Mourinho and Conte, right now we are Schrodinger's club, we exist both as a "big club" with state of the art facilities, massive world class stadium, European competition, and simultaneously, we are Everton inside the M25 having just signed a serial overachiever at a small club who has won nothing in his managerial career and made a marquee signing of a player who cannot dislodge Jarrod Bowen from the West Ham lineup.
not exactly a clean rejection was it, he was coming until the fat greek cunt got the hump, something strange has gone on there that will come out eventually. the video of him with him a day or two ago was also very, very strange.
Weird or not he is a very public figure as a premier league player and there's absolutely no chance Marinakis has made menaces towards him to stay, he's probably just waved some under-the-table money at him and we're just not that big a jump up from Forest right now for him to risk his (now very lucrative) position of continuing to increase his stock further at a club that values him at the level of building the entire team round him.

Still just another young signing we'd be hoping will take the next step....
True he's young, 21 but between Genk and Leicester he has 100 senior career appearances so he's got a fair amount of first team experience.

Watched this little clip, (yes I know YouTube)
but it shows - good in tight spaces, can take a man on and a very capable and clever passer so I'm reasonably impressed.

Baleba would be 70m plus the rest. If we did that and the Leicester kid, I think you’d struggle to find many yids who’d agree the window was a disgrace.

im taking it youve seen that strange video? its beyond odd!

at the start of it all they was threatening legal action bla bla bla, it looks like MGW has leaked his release clause and shat himself when hes been told theyll take legal action over it.

his body language is off in that video and his voice is almost trembling, thats not the signs of a player whos happy to sign a new deal! they was trying to get him to sign a new deal for a year and he wouldnt apparently, hes not all of a sudden all in for shitty little forest is he?

That's the trick here though, he's definitely a skilled player, but he just played a full Premier League season and his output was miniscule.

It's a bit like Tyler Dibling, but El Khannouss is two years older.

I think this term gets tossed around too much, but "cheap punt" really fits here, IMO.
yeah. I get you, very small sample size.

I'd love us to really show Eze we want him and make him make a call, I don' think the scum can fork out another 60M this summer
