Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Yes it is a surprise that top players like Ekitike prefer to sign for the team that finished first rather than the team that finished 17th.

Not sure why newcastle cant sign players. Not sure if its the manager or location or both. They have money burning in their pockets.

Said on sky they have 125m to spend. Plus their best player wants to leave. Not sure if Howe is a big enough pull for top players or players dont fancy it up there.

I'm sure there's something else going on. Feels like Liverpool and City are trying to cock-block them tbh

Right now, who would you rather play for.
Amorim at United or Howe at Newcastle?
To me there is only one correct answer, but apparently Sekso doesn't agree.
Worlds gone mad.
Listen to the Athletic FC Podcast about them and the Isak situation. That should give you your answers.

I’m sure there can’t be more top players out there who Liverpool aren’t signing who could potentially be tempted by big wages, living in London and playing in the prem.

None at all. Best we continue to scavenge off other clubs cast offs and players who clubs have to sell.

ITS PATHETIC.

The point is they didn’t need to make up for last summer. They made no signings and won the league.

Because they make huge signings in the transfer window, they just don’t do it every window. They have a number of world class footballers including the best goalkeeper and cb in the world who they broke records for.

We don’t do that, we never will, and we will never win the premier league under ENIC as a result of this.

Liverpool might take another window off after this but Isak, Wirtz, Kerkez, Frimpong, Ekitike etc will set them up for another 5 years.

More quality signed in one window than ENIC bring in through 10.

Its really not a hard concept to grasp.

We can grasp it, it’s just really stupid and ignores all context. And would only be made by people desperate to jam their tongue deep up ENICS anus.

Liverpool are patient and will not sign players if they can’t get their top targets. But then will spend huge when they can. We don’t. Huge difference.

You haven’t really responded to the question. They finished third. They made no signings while the teams above and below them significantly strengthened. They then finished first.

Your explanation cannot logically be “the transfer window”. That doesn’t explain anything if you accept the facts above.

They were well in the title race the season before and fell off at the end due to going deep in many competitions. Last season the other teams fell off early and they coasted.

If you’re relying on our rivals falling off and us going out of other competitions earlier as a way to finish higher consistently, good fucking luck mate.

“they fell off” is not an explanation. You’re just describing the fact they finished lower or higher using different words.

I’m asking for an explanation and you don’t have one.

What should happen now is that you reconsider the things that did change and the factors necessary for success.

Logically -

Success = Things you’re considering + things you aren’t considering

You are overvaluing the first part of the equation.

You think you’re much more intelligent than you are and it’s a problem.

The factors were other teams did worse and they killed it early. You seem to think you can apply this to Spurs when it’s not a reliable thing to win stuff at all.

We also weren’t third, we were seventeenth, so we have much further to make up. I doubt they’d have signed nobody if they’d been in a similarly drastic situation.

But hey, I expect a top 4 finish minimum this season.
