Ex-Spurs Player Heung-Min Son (손흥민)

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Notice how Kane hasn’t said a single thing about Son despite them being each others most iconic teammate.

Very surprised by his behavior since he left Spurs. We all love him of course but I cannot deny that I have lost some respect for him. Way he left was an embarrassment, a snapchat video was all we got.

It absolutely burned him that the club lifted a trophy that completely overshadowed his first ever senior honour - Bayern winning a Bundesliga is the default mode at this point.

He may be a better player than Son, but He will never be the bigger Spurs legend in my eyes.

Son had me watching a dodgy stream to see him win the Asian Games. He did so much for us, both on and off the pitch. South Korea will be our outpost for a generation because of him.

I was thinking the same. But forgot about it soon as I buried myself in more of the media contents and posts of all other more appreciative players.

This was the main difference between Kane and Son. Kane can be the all-time top scorer for us in records. But most people will definitely remember Son so much more affectionately over Kane because of the human quality. And honestly, now that Son is leaving and people are looking back, especially on the episode of him staying and signing the contract, no throwing of tantrums of not returning for preseason, everything just looked so much worse for Kane.

Kane didn't even like our posts no more ffs. People can justify that he's a Bayern player and he may not wanna cause any misunderstandings. But fuck sake, Lucas Moura and Lamela have been so interactive with our social media posts in IG. Even Aurier had a story paying tribute to Son.

In fairness not everyone uses social media to the same level. I don't use anything other than this and YouTube, Kane might use his social media sporadically. He could have sent Sonny the best private text message. Not everything has to be trotted out for the public to pore over like emotional porn.

He did an interview with Gary Neville talking about leaving while under contract to Spurs.
Missed the first game of the next season hopeful he would get a move.

Anyone who is surprised at anything he does after that surprises me!!

This is probably not the thread to discuss this, but I have wondered if Kane regrets his move to Bayern. It was the safe option, and the glory will never match what we achieved without him.

Of course, we may not have won the Europa if he had stayed, but I bet he saw those scenes and wished he was part of it.

Can I respectfully ask that you take your discussion re what league is hardest elsewhere. I just want to read about Sonny in this thread. Thanks
Apologies Mrs P. You're absolutely right, it wasn't the right thread for it. I didn't know if there was a way to transfer a discussion between multiple people to another thread. I believe it's run it's course now anyway.

A quick look at Kanes facebook and twitter feeds show he hardly posts anything meaningful.
I'm sure he will be asked about Son seeing as we play Bayern in a few days and he'll say something nice.

He comes across as a less emotional person than Son though. I get it, I'm the same. Not all of us have the words so we say very little instead.

There's more likely a bigger part of him that regrets having wasted precious years under the unambitious Mr. Levy. I bet he wishes he'd left us and joined Bayern years before. Unfortunately, he decided to do that stupid interview then not turn up for training. He may be our greatest ever player but I don't love him the same way I do Sonny or Ozzie or Jan.

My respect levels for both players are night and day. I have ignored Kane's thread the minute he left.

Feel like Kane pretty much had a sour taste about the club and couldn't wait to get away really. Probably stemming from what he thought was a gentleman's agreement with Levy for him to join man city

press and media just kept going on and on about him not winning anything that he felt he had to move for the sake of his legacy.
But I don't think he'll ever win the CL with Bayern & I don't know if a few German trays were worth it tbh

Just read the first page of this thread - we seemed to be more concerned about sorting out a song for him than what he would be like on the pitch.
Not many people had heard of him and no-one would have thought that he would end up such a success and as loved as it did.

Why do people do this? Can't praise someone without slagging someone else in return?

Son was a fantastic player and servant to the club but so was Kane.

Love Son AND Kane, but now we have to move on without either of them.

Who will be the next big stars of Spurs?

Son is just different gravy. I don't really hold it against players that they want to try something different, especially after a long stint with Poch came to an end (e.g. Kane and Eriksen)

Even good footballers like Lloris and Vertonghen who spent their best years at the club, and had to move on because age caught up, don't hold the same place as Son. And maybe it's just me, but despite them playing the best football I've seen, under Poch, there's still a bit of disappointment hanging over that period with the lack of silverware

So for Son to actually stick around and go through 4 managers in 5 years and on his last legs to get a trophy over the line, that's his fairy tale ending. He goes on a high after leaving everything here

So I really do expect a classy goodbye from the club: a nice statement, an emotional video with his best bits and a statue shouldn't be off the table

Yes, for whatever reason, this has hit really hard, although it was inevitable, and it really is the best time for both player and Club. I just wasn't expecting it to feel so emotional.

That bloody interview with Neville did it for me with him

Kane doesn't deserve the hate he gets

Jilted lover syndrome

Can't we give sonny all the praise he deserves without bashing harry ?

Whether people like it or not Kane is a Tottenham Legend

No, he wanted guaranteed trophies and a shot at the CL and Balon D’Or and he wasn’t getting that here.
