Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

There really is very little available in the market in the No10 position. Millot would have been a young punt, and the Eze deal is tough to get done.

A change to 4-3-3, pushing the creativity and play wide, rather than playing through the middle. We have lots of wide players with decent creativity (Porro, Udogie, Kudus, Odobert, Tel). Bentancur, Sarr have shown they are decent at late runs to target cut backs.

it worked for Liverpool during the past few seasons - who never had an Eriksen/Madission/DeBryne type player to build from midfield.

Over to Porro to become to new Trent!
Come on apart from kudus are forwards have very little creativity

Conor Gallagher as a 10, tell me it's not true.

The king of deflection. Constantly shifting goal posts.

Except they haven't moved one iota.

(Again; remind yourself of my OG post........ I haven't moved a damn thing.)

Why do you defend Levy so much? Just stop ducking the question.

If you weren't so entrenched in your tact of projecting opinions onto me; the "adult" you might be open to the idea that I'm not especially defensive of Levy/ENIC per say. I can be found describing him as "yesterdays man" (and wouldn't bat an eyelid if they sold up*) and as much as I think his recent comments about league titles are being mis-appropriated; they are unwise regardless ....... I do however think there's a lot of shit chatted about how we are run.

(*Subject to inevitable concerns about whom the next owner might be.)

You may choose to view the last 15 years (or even longer) as a Spurs fan as having been some kind of miserable existence; but to not share that view doesn't make someone a 1-dimensional apologist.

I have my own criticisms of Levy etc..... They just don't start and end with "tight bald cunt".

The mental gymnastics are exhausting.

No more exhausting than your approach to me has deserved.

Up to Frank. We already know Levy is a fan!

Does he solve our 10 issue? Don't think so. Is he a big upgrade on Sarr/Bergval? Not sure. Maybe.
Apparently because Pochettino played him as a 10 for Chelsea, that's the plan, it's Maddison's position that we need to fill. not Sarr's or Bergvall's. The other point is he's locally trained, so like Maddison, he can take his spot in the CL rules too.

Again, ducked the question.

Where did you pull this quote out of? tight bald cunt".

Anyone seen the links to Marc Casado? Palhinha understudy maybe? Not seen enough of him to have a strong opinion, anyone?
Yes. Casado looks like a tenacious, aggressive, destroyer. Much more mobile than say the more traditional Barca DM such as Busquets, from this compilation.

Wiki states Casado can also play RB and CB. But at 5'8" he's not playing CB for us.

To me, it suggests Frank wants to build a physical, hard to break down, team, who can win the ball in midfield and counter-attack at pace.

I still think we need a creative AM, especially against the bus parkers.

EDIT: I linked a compilation video which you can watch on YouTube, but which was blocked by La Liga here. A quick search identifies several clips of Casado.

No I didn't. At this point it's YOU that's exhausting.

........You're not interested in my opinion; you just want me to admit to doing something that I don't believe is true.

Yeh; not happening.

It's common parlance round here when some talk about Levy.

........I thought you had this place all sussed?
Okay, but I didn't say it.

Anyway, your clearly not going to answer. Just don't bother replying to anything of mine because you clearly don't have the capacity to engage in a discussion.

Interesting stat I just found

in the last decade only 4 players debuting a Premier league season that wasn't playing in either Serie A, La Liga or the Championship the season before, has scored more than 10 league goals.

Haaland
Aubemayang
Perriera(promoted with WBA)
Pukki(promoted with Norwich)

Edit: Watkins aswell
Surely if the criteria is "debuting a Premier league season that wasn't playing in either Serie A, La Liga or the Championship the season before, has scored more than 10" than it's just 2 since Perriera, Pukki and Watkins were all playing in the Championship the season before?

Edit: Dele was 10 years ago and came from League One.

Edit2: From the same season ad Dele there is also Wijnaldum, Firminho and Martial.

More recently there is also Lacazette.

I answered.... Shame you haven't got it in you to meet me in the 'middle' at this point; or even agree to disagree.

I'll reply when I see fit thanks.

Is it this one?:

I've got a strong opinion. Said earlier that he was the closest to Vitinha I could think of. There's definitely a concern over his slight frame. Could be an issue in England but then pair him up in a pivot with Palhinha. At €30m it's a no brainer for me, and personally I'd take the risk

Also bring in Fermin Lopez. I'd rather the pair than Rodrygo. Would be nice with some midfielders who could pass the ball and move a little. He doesn't strike the ball quite as well as Eriksen did, but I could see him as instrumental. Lopez works well in confined space and could be crucial against low block teams

I feel like this is a pretty universal thing with all of us and I've been the same especially with all the Son leaving and Maddison dying on the same day stuff.

This is going to be a season where we start to find those types of players in this squad, most of those stars were made at White Hart Lane, most of them slagged off for being too lightweight, coming from shit clubs, being too short, not scoring enough and then slowly they begin to become undroppable.

Kudus will be fun, like Lennon fun. Palhinha and Romero are going to bring those crunching tackles that make people stand up in the stadium. Porro probably has the best right foot of any defender in the league, Bergval has that aura of a player that's just going to be a superstar, Solanke I feel will prove a lot of people wrong this year and then you've got the French winger wild cards that nobody really knows what they'll turn out to be but I'm embracing that they could be good but again who the fuck knows.

We've got a manager that's made every attacker he's had in the premier league better, there's gonna be a lot of low blocks but hopefully that leads to hamstrings not pinging on different players every other week, also doesn't mean we won't play attacking football, think from preseason alone we can see there's a high press when the opposition are in their half.

Kulu and Maddison will come back if we can find all their missing body parts and I think we'll have a couple of signings in the next couple of weeks that just generally lift the mood a bit.

*Not a sign I'm backing how this window has gone. Just a mildly positive this squad is nowhere near as shit as it's made out to be if 70% of it can stay fit imo*
Good post. I think this could be the way forward for us. We already have a decent squad and added two very good signings in Kudus and Palhinha. And if we get two good signings more, that fit into the way Frank wants to play, i think it can be a good season.

We dont want to do business as Man Utd does it. Year after year they buy alot of overpriced players, and every year most of them flop.

My only real concern is Maddisons injury. We must sign a quality creative player.

It’s like watching Odobert all over again.

Is there a CL level technician there? Absolutely. Lovely touch, some nicely weighted passes, clearly sees everything, ball sticks to him.

Is there a PL level athlete there? Absolutely not, certainly not yet at least.

To be fair, Odobert is a more dynamic athlete than BEK. Agree he looks a decent player in the vid though- am less underwhelmed by this potential signing having seen it- and it’s nice to see he can operate on the left if required. Looks more like a natural CAM to me though.
