Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

That's the thing.

Losing to better sides is fine, but you have to at least be competitive - we weren't in the game at all last night and offered zero threat going forward. That it's a preseason friendly is the only mitigating factor.

Bayern on the other hand have woken up this morning and decided they need to bolster their attacking options because despite winning 4 nil, they missed about another five or six sitters.

It starts from being competitive in exactly the manner described.

We are short, and even if Maddison and Kulusevski were fit, we would still need 2 midfielders in my opinion and another striker.

It is staggering how we continually fail to address the issue, and that's not just about expenditure, but myopia to the need.

Baffling, but if we aren't competitive next season, I'm switching off early doors
Fcuk that for a game of soldiers.

M.O implies a pattern. Could you list the release clauses we have actually triggered?

The pattern is this:

MGW - opportunistic because his release clause was lower than Forest's value of the player (they would never accept 60m without release clause)
Palhinha - opportunistic because Bayern wanted rid
Kudus - opportunistic because WHU had to sell

We don't target the best players for Frank, we target players with value

Anyone else thinking the wee fella knew exactly what he was doing with MGW contract situation , just like trying to buy players with very well publicly known 3rd party issues . He is a bit of a card our beloved Daniel I must say , quite the character .
I'd say it's pretty much nailed on. The slimy scumbag knew what he was up to. Probably on the advice of his new Gooner sidekick

Where does the club finish the year as currently constituted, and knowing the number of fixtures we face?

Relegation a real threat this time…?

IF Vicario, Romero, VDV, Porro, Udogie, Solanke, Richy, Kudus can stay fit Spurs should still be within spitting distance of Top 4 by the time the Xmas fixtures come. Kulu coming back and finding form will be needed to overcome the Xmas fixtures.

I have zero confidence that Romero, VDV, Udogie, Richy will be fit beyond game week 12.

Domestic cups will likely go to the kids; and we will crash out early, and the Champions League will expose Franks lack of experience in Europe and the lack of depth in the squad.

No threat of relegation. Frank knows how to sit back and 'survive'. But certainly, the only man at the club that actually tried to throw caution to the wind and win something was sacked.

This is what pisses me off so much. The only strategy is “who’s cheap”

WTF does Johan Lange even do

Do you think we're better?

They're probably on our level just now, because they've had as bad a summer as we have, but they're overtaking us.
I don't think we're going to be better than Newcastle over the course of this coming season as it stands (though losing Isak might change that).

I think what bothers me more is that we seem to be in a sort of 'post-Fergie' denial stage, when the reality is there's a real dislocation between where we think we're entitled to be and where we actually are. We sometimes seem to talk about teams like Forest, Brighton, Bournemouth, Brentford, Fulham and Palace as if they're a tier below us. But those teams occupied positions 7 to 12 last season, with the lowest, Palace, finishing 15 points ahead of us. I appreciate last season was an anomaly (or, at least, I sincerely hope it was), but it doesn't change the fact that this, in my view, is the group we're realistically competing with next season.

To say there is absolutely no threat of relegation is wrong imo
We are a unbalanced squad
Always seem to have long term injuries
Poor recruitment plan
This is a ruthless league
You can’t keep doing what we are doing and don’t expect it not to go wrong at some time
Eventually not all the newly promoted teams will always go down
Law of averages say that won’t happen
Anything buying now will be panic buying with no even less of a plan than before

You’re absolutely on the money here.

We are miles behind the top 4 and also worse than Villa or Newcastle atm. There’s definitely a disconnect between the fans/board perception of our squad based on past finishes and the real ability of the squad.

Right now I look at the players we’ve got like Bentancur, Spence, Sarr, Vicario, Van de Ven, Johnson, even Maddison and Kudus, they’re not getting close to any of the top 4 squads and very few of them would get into the Villa or Newcastle squad. They’re good players, but they’re Brighton/Forest/Bournemouth level good players. That’s the bracket the squad we’ve built is in now. We’re a million miles off the Kane, Son, Eriksen, Dele, Dembele, Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Lloris, Walker teams, yet fans/board seem to think we should still be at that level.

Yes, and it will always be this. It's Levy's MO.

So when he says he doesn't get involved in identifying the players, he absolutely does. From start to finish.

He is absolutely identifying opportunistic deals and that is the very premise of how we do our business.

No other big Club operates this way.

Hope Frank does well, but have you ever watched Brentford and thought good team, some nice football? Bit of a basic team with old fashioned type defenders who sit deep and play quite direct into a physical front three. Bournemouth and Brighton play much better football if we’re talking that area of the table.
We will be the new "crazy gang"!!

Wimbledon watch out, HERE WE COME!!!

What The Hell Wtf GIF

Football doesn't work like that as I'm sure you know, TtTE took on the job and our fanbase will never give the poor fecker the time to do things like he had at Brentford.

The window hasn't closed yet but I really hope he isn't one of those managers who will make do with whatever he is given.
He is part of the problem this window. We kept hearing Frank wants to assess the squad. This is his first Job at a new club and the delay meant many other teams were snapping up players and we missed out.
