----Kudus-----Akliouche-----Savinho---
---Solanke/Wissa----

That's the kind of reshaping we should be on, as a proper building block for Frank to work from in his first season + CL.

That 40m for Tel should have gone on someone like Akliouche (who's also versatile).

You buy Wissa - he's super versatile (so you get extra value out of him), he and frank know each other inside out and he was 6th highest scorer in the league last season.

Sell Richie in Jan after he realises he ain't been playing and it's a WC year. He'll go (really, he should have figured that out already and been off, but, y'know... Richie. lol).

That gives Frank a proper chance to balance out defensive toughness and resilience with real attacking threat at the other end.

Only in one game, which he looked very good. But it was lower league opposition.
Good touch and some nice finishes when he scored.

But people are happy to discussed 2-3 times this amount for a German forward who scored 19 goals in 89 games before a 1 in 2 season last year.
That's is exactly the sort of player we spunk £50m+ on and give away for free in 5 years

Ange had no system. It was an idea at best.
Always the sign of a great system when it's supporters suggest that the only way to make it work is to sign the best players...

:ange-arms:

I mean Savinho is very much talented lad and would absolutely improve our winger department.
But 70 mil (unless it is like 60 mil + 10 mil if he wins Ballon do'r - in that case it would be more reasonable)?!? That would still be smashing our transfer fee for a "potential" (though I admit - he does have A LOT of it) of a player who is made available from his current team. It makes me worried that he managed to score 1 goal (!) for City in EPL last season.

I generally do not think he is worth more than 55-65 mil, but of course have to keep in mind that Levy "genius strategy" of sitting on his hands for most of first 2 months of the window will mean we have to pay some premium to get anyone of quality at all...

Meh. When Savinho hit those numbers he had 600+ more minutes than Rodrygo .. and trust me if you took Rodrygo and made him the star guy for a mid table la liga side he’d hit very good numbers, it is how it is.

There’s no real argument here .. Rodrygo has been a second fiddle having to do lots of off the ball work for Vini & co for a while. I don’t think he’s absolute top level at all but he’s a proven very good player at CL level. Savio is the best we can attain with our wage structure.
Lots of unknowns here and Savinho is younger.

You were right on City going for Rodrygo, exciting times.

70m euros total package. That is a 58m package in Sterling. We won't be breaking our transfer record.

You ok hun?

Pal, this isn't the club waking up or following their data-led approach or Thomas Frank indicating X as the ideal player.

It's literally Lange & co phoning round other clubs to see who they'd be happy to shift, then when a name is decent enough, that the fee & wages are acceptable re our WTR, and that there's potential resale value...we're in.

He's done nothing to put 20 or 30 mil on his Girona value.

Spending 50 or 60 big ones on that kid would be another typical nutter move a la Levy.

Absolutely, especially for 40ish mil. Kid was immense at Girona and definitely had plenty good moments at City.

I just really wish we hadn't signed Tel and used that money (and more) on a proper CF, 10, DM, LB...

Are people thinking we might get a 10 aswell or will kudus move to 10? Just not sure frank wants big numbers to manage. I think we ought to but unless richy moves i can't see it happening and I don't think richy will go tbh.

They aren’t keen, it’s the player who wants out because he’s worried about losing minutes to Bobb.

Their fans don’t like it at all. However a rodrygo would ease the pain.

Btw - Rodrygo’s highest La Liga tally is 10. Savinho scored 9 as a teenager 👀

Rodrygo is probably a much more mature version of Savinho and Pep can be choosy with unlimited oil wealth. It’s like a fancy restaurant leaving for you elite cuts of fish they don’t need.

It’s why I’d much rather buy City or Real castoffs than first team mid table players. Generally a much higher standard.

Kudus--------Eze--------Savinho
--------------Solanke--------------

Then we would have richy, johnson, Tel, odobert in reserve until kulu gets back.

Love that attack it would be very exciting
