And we would win it with Sonny?? Take defeat tonight in exchange for a scrappy win on Saturday
Watching our friendlies, not sure where the goals are coming from.

Well fear not everyone, Hotspur88 has chimed in on Savinho

“Was told this was very close/basically done and I have no reason to doubt that info. Haven't been told anything since so will presume that's still the case. Also, as mentioned previously, I'm not going to hound so will have to wait and see if he reaches out.”
I’ve also heard that both Eze and Savinho are done and will be presented at half time on Saturday, on horse back

We of so many glories shunning the opportunity to hoist something of enough notoriety to make the honours page?

Nah. I'd rather sing "champions of europe" somewhat tongue-in-cheek all season.
I did say a small part mind. It's cynicism I know, but I've ridden the Levy merry-go-round too many times and if we somehow sauntered to a comfortable 2-0 win can you honestly say you wouldn't worry about the tight fisted wanker thinking "there you go, who says we need signings?"
Or they think fuck that I don't wanna be a part of that...
If last season's league performances haven't done that already losing a glorified friendly to the CL champions certainly won't put any more of a dent in our standing with said players IMO.
On the other hand, winning could create a vibe shift where Eze and Savinho want to come to us even more.
Fair play, that is the kind of positivity I can get behind.
Or it might make Levy start to doubt Frank before he's even up and running.
We know Levy closes his wallet when there's a hint he's gonna have to sack "another one"
Fuck sake, now I don't know what to be paranoid about :davieshmm:

I'm clinging to that Dean Jones actually broke this story weeks ago. We rightfully laughed it off. But that fact we're still talking is positive. If this wasn't going to happen, feel like City would've publicly shut it down already.

And you think getting thumped by one of the best, most expensive clubs in the world is going to break open his wallet?

:levystare:

In truth, its Joe's wallet. And Joe won't even know we're playing in the match, much less care if we win or lose.

All of Spurs' issues stem from being owned by someone with little to no interest in football whatsoever. Levy is just the (well paid) bloke at the wheel.

I think there is strong evidence to suggest that Levy is very reactive when public perception of him is poor, he is probably ruing his comments about winning PL/CL but unfortunately all our performances against CL level competition are now under a magnifying glass and our only meaningful additions being Kudus and Palhinha on loan despite ever so much noise about other incomings, might generate a fair bit of conversation in the media about whether Frank is being hung out to dry before the season even kicks off, and we might see reactive Levy come into play.

A small part of me wants us to get humped this evening by PSG, as it is a fairly nothing game that largely amounts to a pre-season friendly and winning might actually be more disastrous than losing, the optics of getting mauled by a proper CL-calibre team for the 2nd game on the trot might actually push the Eze/Savinho deals into overdrive.
I'd imagine quite a few in the fanbase are having similar thoughts atm...last thing any of us need is that little bald fellow jumping on the post win bandwagon until the window closes.

I've repeatedly said I think this chatter is wide of the mark, and as such don't think it will influence anything at all. Frank wasn't hired to rebuild the squad from outside. He was hired to rebuild from within - to get all our young players playing up to their potential.

Frank will be judged on how Tel, Johnson, Odobert, Bergvall, Gray, Udogie, Spence, etc. perform over the next 18 months.
