Yes. But Levy has a history of trying to exploit leverage to the nth degree and messing up the deal.
We had leverage on a much younger Grealish, when it seemed Villa needed to sell and the player only wanted Spurs. We were tight with his agents too.
IIRC Levy kept trying to drive the price ever lower, Suddenly, Villa were bought by new owners, and they insisted Grealish was no longer for sale. He signed a contract with a £100 million release clause, Pep paid it, and proceeded to coach the flair out of him...
Anyway, the relevant point is that Levy overplayed his hand by trying to exploit the leverage he had.
