Match Super Cup Final - Spurs vs PSG, Weds 13th Aug, 8pm

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Want to answer the question orr? Ok maybe 30 million as he’s HG. Not 60odd and no one was crying out for Solanke last summer window. Classic modern spurs spending big money badly.

We'll see what happens this season; assuming we actually create a few chances for him.

If Iraola can get 21 goals out of him; then a) there's a fair logic that Frank can do similar and b) suddenly he becomes worth every penny we paid cos his work rate and hols up game is already solid.

As frustrating as tonight was, there are a lot of positives to take away including some of the individual performances, such as Kudus and Sarr which were very aggressive and physically adept at winning second balls and duels in particular.

We defended really well for 75 minutes and actually looked coached, who would have thought??

Its as simple as, back Frank or we will have an underwhelming season.

Without any signings, we shouldn't be getting on Frank's back, but Levys instead.

Considering what our depth showed, we should get some fees agreed soon enough but you never know with this club.

Why do people do this?

Did we not show desire in the Europa League?

Did we throw away a two goal lead in the Europa League?

By making the comparison you just make Frank look bad when we all need to be pulling behind and putting pressure on the club to sign the quality he needs to push us forward.

Ffs
What are you on about? Please don't tell me. I don't want to be exposed to more nonsense.

Has he been fined many times before ? Don't see any evidence of this

Banning him from a European final was kinda amateur hour when the club doesn't have great depth in that position to be dishing our bans for being late.
We end up having to bring on gray because of it, and he's well out of his depth in midfield but

what's done is done, we won the important trophy in May :angesmile2:

Lots of long term thinking here. I say this likewise not knowing if he has been fined before or not but I quite like how serious Frank has taken this by dropping him from the squad. It's a clear message that unprofessionalism will not be tolerated and I'm all for that. Spurs should have won that final without Bissouma in the end, and there is no certainty he would have been any good when he came on.

We'll never know, but he can only blame himself for not having a say in the matter. I'm happy to sacrifice the Super Cup if it means Frank can start building a squad around dedicated players who will do everything they can for each other. It's a key part to how Pochettino got Spurs firing again after he binned off all the dickheads.

As you said, the real quiz was won in May so let's just hope we can start the PL on a more positive note.

" didn't provide a key pass all game"

Troll

It was a decent ball for a speculative 25 yard first time shot from Richy but "key pass" it was not.

Unlike you I'm not a nasty vile piece of shit who digs out players unnecessarily like you do.

I simply recognise that if he can't provide assists and goals - which is and always has been the question on him - then we still have a problem. Because we need one player who can do both not two players who can do either thing.

Now go fuck off you nasty piece of shit

In order to do that we have to technically good enough player to player. They are leagues ahead of us in that sense. Our press an intensity for 70 mins was all over them, we are never keeping the ball from a team coached to do just that for a long time.

Nope, but with these inferior ball players they have to be drilled in some patterns they can be comfortable in

We were probably the easiest team to stress and dispossess in the League last season (whoever we played). Something stupid we do again and again is to pass the ball wide to a FB or winger who is basically already closed down whilst nobody shows for the ball

Bringing in quality would help massively but these players should still be able to do better

A lot of very good performances tonight, particularly for first 80 mins.

In no order :
Romero, Van de Venn, Danso, Spence, Bentancur Sarr,Palhino, Richarlison, Kudus

Who have I missed out -
Porro not as prominent in this match as the others ?
Vicario, not much to do but great FK for first goal

so a solid first team plus others on bench capable of starting and coming off bench including Bergvall, Odobert et al.

Nobody doubts we need a couple of first team starters in to bolster the squad

It's disappointing, but I'm not disappointed. I mean, ive got the hump a little bit being 2-0 up with 5 to go...but..
As I said earlier, Paris won't forget how to play just because they have only been on the training pitches for 6 days. The first 60 minutes we were really fighting for the win and then their quality and us sitting back came through and culminated in a pretty inevitable collapse for the final 10 minutes.

My only issue is that we let them come back in to it. And as I was in a pub enjoying the occasion with friends rather than being completely analytical and scrutinising I can't tell you why that happened.

The win in the EL and now the loss in the SC will teach our boys something. You got to roll with the punches and look forwards. If you are spitting your dummy out tonight, and attacking individuals for a missed penalty or a mistake in game, then I suggest you get more hobbies and thus a more fulfilling life.

They did us proud tonight and at elite level tiny margins matter. We got a bit lucky, and we took some luck.

Enough for me to be positive along with a couple of additions, more coaching and a few current players back to fitness, I think we'll do alright this season. Maybe even surprise ourselves.

But for the love of god, support your team

Desire too - don't forget desire. We showed desire tonight. It was sadly lacking last season, but it returned tonight. Okay we conceded two late goals and lost the lottery of a penalty shoot-out, but for large parts of the game we wanted it much more than they did. I liked that.

That's down to Frank.
Spurs should have wanted it more being the underdogs. PSG probably didn’t even really care about winning that game.

I get wanting to be optimistic but was it really any different from what we’ve seen over the last 5 years? Played great for the first 3/4 of the game but then couldn’t hold on to the lead after sitting back. Felt like watching the same old Spurs.

Hope Frank learns from this game and has success this season.

People are gonna melt, it's football. But I thought that we were fantastic for the majority of the game.

We looked solid defensively, put some brilliant phases of play together, set pieces looked great, stole the ball loads of times and made life incredibly difficult for them. Above all else, we look significantly better than we did a few months ago.

The game shifted as soon as the subs came on. Don't really give a shit about who played badly and why. It's pretty obvious that some of our players are not at the required level. This is something that needs to be addressed by Levy. Our lack of attacking/creative options are totally unacceptable for the 9th richest club in the world.

Sucks that we didn't win but at least we won't be complacent going into the Burnley game.

Plenty of positives though. Best I've seen us play in a long time.

Lol I get that you're fucking thick but even you must be able to see the irony of saying the same players who won a European trophy last season didn't "show desire" but did tonight when they lost one

How about we focus on getting the club to buy the quality we desperately need?

Disappointing end to the game. But yet if someone offered us to lose on penos before the game after been excellent for 3 quarters of it the people whinging now would have taken hand and all. Fucking hell. This place is turning into twitter
