Match Super Cup Final - Spurs vs PSG, Weds 13th Aug, 8pm

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I thought we played really well on the whole and gave the best team in Europe a good game . They have dismantled better teams than us this season.
I still think this season will be a tough one for us unless we can get a few more new faces through the door. It’s a thin squad in many areas.

yep the difference was PSG brining Kang-in , ramos, ruiz and mbaye off their bench. off our bench comes a couple of kids who've never really excelled at the club so far and a barely fit no preseason solanke.

Levy is a Lizard cunt

I wonder if Biss had travelled having him come on Gray we may have been a bit more solid for the last half hour
...you're assuming he'd have made it to the airport, then the plane, then the hotel, then the stadium by then, aren't you?

I reckon he'd have just arrived at Luton by now - and we'll have gone from Stanstead.

Depends which Bissouma turned up.

Bissouma's probably played less than a dozen (or maybe 20) games in 3 years where he's been a 7 or 8 out of 10, majority he's been average and a lot more than the matches where he's been 7 or 8 out of 10 he's been a 3 or 4 or 5 out of 10.

Totally inconsistent.

Bergvall much more likely, based on H2 last season to have come on to give a big performance - but Frank thought Gray would come on to give mainly defensive cover. 20/20 hindsight maybe Bergvall adding fresh legs to both go forward (passing to the otherwise isolated Solanke) and defend might have been better option.

Yes but when it's 85 minutes on the clock you say 5 minutes to play plus stoppage

But yes technically 10.

Doesn't make me feel any better though.
Ah, but that's where mentality (and switching off) comes into it...

85 minutes + 5 minutes stoppages is the same as 80 minutes and no stoppages... Yet you'd factor in 10 minutes in your mind...

I get the sinking feeling that at 2-0 on 85 minutes (even allowing for the goal they pulled back) we thought the job was done.

It SHOULD'VE been a mere consolation goal...
Obviously it was the springboard for what happened next!
.still, I'd rather we played well for 80 minutes and lose on penalties, that play shit for 80 and get pumped 6-0 (which incidentally, plenty were predicting pre-match!)

I think we surprised a few people at least... That's the only solace I'm taking ...

Plus it was just a glorified Continental Community Shield that we would be struggled to get ANY credit for winning, outside of N17...
THAT'S what I'm telling myself!

Am i the only one impressed by big Kevin Danso??

The boy has hardly put a foot wrong since he came to us!

About yesterday, our central midfield looked rock solid up to the substitutions, and closed down their midfield.

COYS

Positives for me was our shape, we looked so much better organised especially defensively, we clearly had worked on a game plan to nullify them. Night and day compared to last season. and some great performances from the likes of Sarr, Spence, danso , pali and kudus.
Negatives for me was our subs, tel in particular but maybe time and good coaching will improve him? Son missing again in a big match but what’s new

its true - its a showpiece game

against petrodollars united

I am happy to be encouraged by the fact that we didn't fall apart and battled out an effective gameplan, if we can match that grit and determination, we are going to utter bastards to beat - as the most expensive team in the world just found out.

losing a penalty lottery isn't something to be ashamed of

I said before the game it was a pointless friendly .
We were on a hiding to nothing. If we won it would have been “ you beat an unfit psg side in a pre season friendly “ and if we lost … blah blah unfit psg blah blah blah.

The game was a complete waste of time for every one. It proved nothing.

I didn’t give a shite that we won the ALDI cup and I wouldn’t have given a shit if we win last night. Both irrelevant matches
What do you need to win for it to matter and how realistic will that be?
