Match Super Cup Final - Spurs vs PSG, Weds 13th Aug, 8pm

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I feel like we were on a hiding to nothing with this game.

If we’d won, it would have been “oh it’s only a glorified friendly” or “PSG have only just come back from their holidays, you didn’t have much competition”

I didn’t say the charity shield was more important. I said this game was just glorified friendly. It’s not recognised as anything. It was a preseason friendly . In my opinion it’s a pointless fixture.
As far youngsters in cups, no way. I wanna full strong first 11 in every domestic cup. I’d rather play a weakened team in the league over a cup game . I don’t even think we will get anywhere near 5th. 8th/9th is my prediction this season
It's a friendly because we lost. If we had won, we would be lording another trophy. We can't have it both ways.

I wanted us to win it (I would have cared if we won, so I care that we lost), but not having the depth to bring on subs that can go up against their quality, showed that unless we get some new players in (we have and always will have our usual dose or injuries to key players), then this kind of turnaround, once we use our subs, is going to happen in the league too.

such as it is for us, media and other fans love to hate us. if we won it would've been a nothing mickey mouse game, we lost and it's a massive spursy collapse.
We won the Europa - but it doesn't count cause no CL dropouts and it was the worst man u since records began etc etc

they will always look for the negative

hopefully we get some more players in to bolster the squad, get kulu, takai back fit asap and silently go about a business and try and win something again this season.

p.s i'ts a mickey mouse cup anyway

We were on a hiding to nothing. If we won it would have been “ you beat an unfit psg side in a pre season friendly “ and if we lost … blah blah unfit psg blah blah blah.

The game was a complete waste of time for every one. It proved nothing.

I didn’t give a shite that we won the ALDI cup and I wouldn’t have given a shit if we win last night. Both irrelevant matches

My lasting impression after the game yesterday is that I'm not very worried about the season anymore. We could stand up against PSG, took them to penalties and should have won. Both in the 90 and in penalties. Good start by Frank..

Now we need a couple of new players, then we are ready for a loong and successful season.

Ah yes, I've just remembered Danso's long throws. Excellent! Really enjoyed seeing (and looking forward to) those.

And... Vicario looked better with the ball at his feet. Was that because PSG were a little lethargic? Maybe, but the green shoots are there - he was also encouraged to boot it long, which is another thing we were lacking last season.

I'm already seeing signs of a greater desire to get into the opponent's box - and let's face it, that's where the goals are scored!

Long may this approach continue.

I thought we played really well on the whole and gave the best team in Europe a good game . They have dismantled better teams than us this season.
I still think this season will be a tough one for us unless we can get a few more new faces through the door. It’s a thin squad in many areas, especially with injuries we have before the season has started.
