I don't really care for blame or narratives, but this isn't good enough for a club like ours

Whether that is doing due diligence, knowing what areas to target, or being able and willing to move quickly through the gears when necessary, we are being shown-up.

It's harder now to see how we are able to put together a squad who can be expected to challenge for the top 5 this season..

It is absurd to expect a player to have a non legally binding personal agreement sway his decision about the next 4-5 years of his career when gifted the choice between his boyhood club and their bitter rivals. I mean wtf, If anything, the fact that he agreed to us in the first place speaks of his professionalism. Had our club finalized the deal, however that needed to happen, he couldn't have reneged as the club would have made actual contractual agreements with us at that point. The deal between the clubs is predicated on the personal agreement with the player first and foremost as he still has his contract with his current club as leverage. The only exception, which we played our role in, was to allow a deal with another club to be struck which the player also agreed to. It's very simple.

If he had signed, wonderful. But he didn't.

He also didn't sign when linked from QPR.

He was also rumoured to have been going to Woolwich earlier in this transfer window.

It's shit cos we need a 10 and it's shit if it was made complicated cos of Levy.

But Eze hasn't really said or done anything that makes me pine for him.

2 things he’s never done:

1. Capitalize on a position of strength to push the football team forward.

2. Reacted with strength and conviction after the club has been embarrassed.

He will just dither along telling himself he’s being stoic, probably reading Marcus Aurelius diary..Only problem is that Marcus Aurelius actually won shit and didn’t get mugged off all the time.
