Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I think Thomas Frank will win us matches with his ability to change approach and tactics comfortably. What lets us down his the players he has at his disposal to fill certain areas.

I expect we’ll get a 10 in and probably a winger, but no one at a level to take us to the next level.
Do we need a 10. Liverpool won a league under Klopp without one. Just 3 hard working players. Just block the middle up, nobody gets at the defence. We score from set pieces and Kudus creates things.
Woolwich don’t play with a 10 as such. Eze will end up on the left wing.

It can be true that the way Palace played their cards was cuntish.
It can be true that fat-fucking-greek-cunt screwed us over too.

But it still does not excuse the wider picture.
If one deal falls through, you have to have ALTERNATIVES LINED UP for fuck sake.
You cannot sit behind one negotiations table and have no plan B to turn to when you operate in limited time window.

We are a football club and business venture with half a billion of yearly revenue. You don't run this thing like a fucking lemonade stand.
Agree totally! I was just passing on a perspective of the deal.

So to summarise

We won the Europa League
Levy comes out and make the infamous "it's not enough" statement
Tel and Danso loans made permanent
Kudus in
Fucked up MGW signing
Madders fucked for the season
Fucked up Eze signing

What next

We do nothing
We panic and grab the kid from Leicester (who is massively overpriced)
We panic and grab some overpriced youngster from France, Italy or Germany
We panic big time and loan Garnacho or someone else the tops clubs want to get of their books who will be a huge disappointment

What we won't do

Rodrygo
Also Son left
Kulu will take time to get back into form whenever he will return
Still none of the deadwood has been sold

On the plus side some contract extensions
kudus palinha

We are in for a rough ride if we dont get reinforcements in

To get to the top of the foodchain we need to keep winning trophies imo. Dont want last season to be a one off. We carry on winning cups were more of a pull to players.
I hate to be that guy, but winning cups doesn't get you players, look at the gooners and united , when did they last win a Cup? We all want to win cups, however paying higher wages gets you players, and not dicking around trying to save a few bonb on the transfer fee gets you players, we always get told how hard deals are, yes they are hard when you want to save money , pay the going rate and decent wages and its actually quite easy.....

How on earth have we not sold a single player this window.
Solomon is a classic example of the complete inertia at the club. Off the back of an excellent loan to a promoted championship club, one of their best players and yet here we are, 11 days to go and still here. I know the injury didnt help but its nothing serious. He cost us nothing, we could easily flip him but even that simple thing is beyond us.

Wait a minute, have Leeds not yet bought Solomon? 😂 I had it in my head he was transferred weeks ago.

Wasn’t that the surest thing ever? How the f*** has that transfer not come to fruition yet?

I understand players are bought over time. But Levy always insists on his terms and conditions. I bet you still excited by Levy's terms considering we not getting Eze now.

Which Game Changing players have we actually managed to get over the line this window? None. Kudus doesn't count cause no one else was willing to take the risk of buying him. Paulinho doesn't count cause he's still on line.

Levy has haggled with every player we wanted but was to happy to fork out for Tel. What an idiot.

I would disagree with you about Kudus and Palhinha, both of whom have looked good in playing time so far. Both improve Spurs squad - I doubt if too many fans would agree with you

I didn't think that Tel had shown enough on loan to be a purchase at the level we needed him to be - imo Odobert has more experience (one season in top French league and one in PL with Burnley), and although frustratingly injured most of last season looks a better player than Tel. So whilst good forwards are neither plentiful nor cheap, so Tel being immediately available with 'great potential' had attractions, I'd have passed and looked for a better player (even if a top player not available directly after season ended).

IMO the Eze deal fell apart through lack of integrity on the part of the player and/or Palace - by all accounts Eze had agreed terms with Spurs and it was Palace delaying saying they wanted him to play tonight plus wanted to haggle over small items in contract as a delaying tactic. So all Woolwich did was to come in and agree to take similar terms to Spurs (or minimal change) in last few days whilst Palace/Eze stringing Spurs along saying 'deal still on, but it nedds to be after Thursday's match ......

That is unethical behaviour by business standards. Not criminal.
