Can he be blamed by our fans for preferring to join a club that's been 2nd each of the last 3 years, while we've just finished 17th and have a questionable commitment to challenging for the highest honors? Hating them as we might, can we blame a kid from SE10 for it who started there in his youth? Isn't this no less than what you'd expect?
The story may be gussied up for drama, no doubt it is, but the simply fact is that Levy hasn't built a club that will present more than a backup option versus a club that does serious business decisively, and which is in a much better state in the league than ours.
Facts are facts... this is from his perspective the only reasonable thing to do. Sure, I'll move upward to Spurs and love the opportunity if it arises but Scum is where I'd like more.
