And yet he played 96 matches for City in the last 3 seasons.
Of course theres a plan.
Look at Woolwich's options in defensive midfield, Rice, Norgaard, Zubimendi.Right, there are reasons..... but lets be very very clear about what was being said.... by you
His priority is never to get the player signed. His priority is to win the deal, that’s why he drags out negotiations, offers players in part exchange, haggles over bonus clauses, lowballs etc.
Just be consistent - we CLEARLY didn't haggle endlessly for the players I brought up, and 90% of people on here feel like we OVERPAID for them.
I can, if you would like, go through other teams wasted transfers if you want - if it would make you feel better and prove that you are completely Spurs-focused.
So let's do it, though im sure you will come back to me with another reason why I'm wrong, even if it completely contradicts previous things that have been said.
Liverpool & City probably waste the least money on transfers - City ---- obvious reasons --- Liverpool is a model I would love to be able to replicate - but the rest -
Woolwich - Haavertz, Jesus, Fabio Viera, Pepe - Gokyeres remains to be seen, but he is more of a risk than Solanke
Liverpool - Nunez, Konate (I do not rate this guy for 40m)
Man United - I mean - you surely don't need me to list here....
Chelsea - same as United - come on bro....
Everyone please for the love of God avoid reading too much into Fabrizio Romano's waffle tweets.
You will see a lot of;
"They call to be informed of his situation
"They continue to insist on"
"There are internal discussions"
"Very difficult move"
"Tottenham remain interested in"
"Tottenham are still in for..... situation is still not closed"
While he's obviously reliable all his posts are highly monetized and transfer season is his Christmas so word salad is on the menu.
Man City paid a reported £30.8 million (€35.7/$41.5m) for Savinho when they signed him from Troyes in July 2024.
He signed a five-year contract worth a basic £40,000 (€46,400/$53,850) per week, according to Capology.
And now watch us pay over 75 million for their reject.
His decision making process in the final third is shockingly poor. Saw him at least 15 times last season, and he is a selfish prick wannabe Neymar without half the skill or charisma.
On top of that, his finishing is no way near consistent enough. Here, take a look:

Move on from this clown. Pep saw it early, gave him every opportunity when Debruyne was injured and he still did fuck all.
He is frail too. One proper "reducer" tackle and he is done out here....
Maybe just me but Brazilian players aint what they used to be ......

Every other fucker does

We have Palhinha, what happens if he get's injured?
We don't even have two good players in every position.
They are miles ahead of us.
Bill used to be one of, if not THE biggest Levy critic on the forum. Used to make me look like a moderate. You still calm about the window Bill?
If only there was 10 days left still eh?
But fear not, the likes ofPhomesy will be here with his little green emojis to shut down any dissent, little scavenger that he/she is.

Sadly I don't see a future with him here, although I would love to. Not given enough game time and possibly not good enough, then we might as well sell. I'm sure Levy would be happy. Tying our youngsters down with contracts he could flip for some money.Scarlett has been MIA since before the tour tbf, not been in any training pics/videos at HW. Hopefully gets a loan sorted soon.
I get your point and there have certainly been examples in our past, but Ndombele really wasn’t a panic buy or making a signing for a signing. He was a prized get and considered a game changer for us at that point.
The pattern is that the majority there are from 2008 to 2015. We were pretty good at transfers then. Since 2016 its been mostly dreadful. Football has changed so much in terms of spend and identfying players and we've been left behind on both fronts. We dont spend like Woolwich, Liverpool, Utd, Chelsea, City and we're not as smart at talent spotting as Palace, Brighton, Bournemouth etc. What pattern would you apply to these?
