I would be happy with both. I think we have a chance, if Levy can stop all the silly stuff.

We have the money and we have the capability too.

I think we can get Savinho, and ship the players we don't. It just takes Levy to act in the best interest of the club, and not his ego. Not every negotiation has to be a battle to the death.

And if Levy doesn't pay up, then it will cost us more in the long run, when we are not getting money from playing in the CL or EL, domestic cup runs and finishing money.

Fighting at the top, means you get the finances to keep fighting at the top, making you more attractive to a greater number of better quality players, and when you invest from a position of strength, it becomes cheaper, as you are not spending extra hundreds of millions playing catch up, you purchase wisely in areas that need upgrading.

We all cry about Man City and the players they get, but they can do that, as unlike us, they are not having to rebuild the bloody team every season.

Savinho and paz should be do able financially no problem. They are just simply too stubborn.

I think we were looking at an outlay of 60m for eze and 60m (prepared to pay) for savinho.

With eze gone we could get paz for 50m and use the 10m saved to bump up the offer for savinho.

We can't go into a season with no creative midfielders. We are one of the richest clubs in the world so need to be prepared to "waste" money as the situation is desperate.

We are obviously not getting our primary targets so we need to move down the list and get the next ones in.
Not for me! I'll use your phrase "waste" money? I'd rather cancel Alfie Divines loan and have him as our number 10, rather than waste money. Plus Bergvall could step into the role, again, rather than waste money.

There's no reason we shouldn't be scouting a top class 10. Nico Paz as an example. Someone for now and the future, not just a second rate stop gap imo.

Frank is paid well they all are they come and go he will to it's like a pantomime now when the mangers are asked questions before games. He knows the squad it worse now than it was but not a chance he can even say that. It's not hard to see how worse off we are now loosing 3 players before the start of the season and having champions League football. It's an utter disgrace and it should be more highlighted than it is

To be honest, I think we can do more than that.

We have to, due to mismanagement for decades, we have to play catch up, and catch up costs.

Same shit every summer.

ITKs start announcing that the club is swimming in cash end of June, with minimal actual business being done over the next two months and finally, two (or rather just one) overpriced panic buys are completed.

Just pay the 40 million and get Paqueta you bald prick. We need a 10 (two actually) but at least one. You build a side through the spine. These days if I was assembling a team I would start with the best 6 I could get tennis GK and CB then 10, 9 and 8. After that it’s wingers and lb/rb.

Why didn’t we have a list of preferred 10s at the start of the TW? We went for MGW, missed out and since then have stumbled about like a blind man in a china shop. Fucking indecisive, I’ll prepared amateurs.
Isn't Paqueta hovering around a betting related ban?

He’s lost 60 goals from a side that finished 17th. The scum owners should have been preparing partial sales of the club to create investments of c.£500M this summer but no…. Same old same old, sell before we buy, try and get maximum value on every day deal regardless of losing Kulu, Maddison and Son.

A hiding Saturday and go 1-0 down vs Bournemouth and hopefully people will be claiming the stands to get him. This could turn very, very quickly
Lost loads of goals, but we'll hopefully not ship a hatful each game, so the need isn't quite as desperate as it sounds. Based on last weekend, it looks like part of Frank's plan is to actually pass to the CF somewhere near the box so there's that, too...

I have to have hope...

Painful to watch Frank in the presser.

When asked directly if the squad is better than last season with Son/Maddison out and Kudus/Palhinha in, all he could say was that it’s “similar” and that when he came in he thought it was a “good squad”.

:frankfacepalm:
This is why I don't watch many of them (unless we've won bigly against some proper arseholes), or there was some contentious elements I want an explanation of. But outside of that, it's politics/marketing/management; all the bullshit we have more than enough of. He can't be too frank (something I loved about Ange), it's just watching someone squirm under the spotlight.

At least he's articulate. Poch was unbearable. I could make a sound-board of his quotes and noises and literally fill in for him.
