Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Ha ha ha touche you silly cunt!

I'd love him here. "What I can do with a football, he can do with an orange" or whatever the Maradona quote was. PL or not, you need one of them magician type player in your team, guy who sees 3 or 4 moves ahead and can do what others can't. Plus we've got a real Argie history here, he'd feel right at home.

Maybe if our in-house geniuses had sorted out a proper plan end of May/early June...maybe he'd have been on the list, along with a GK/LCB/FB/DM/LW/CF and we'd have done a deal with Como.

But at this stage of the window? No chance. It'll be that Leicester kid for 30ish mil (and cheap wages) and a big club reject defender on loan.

Absolutely.

They’ve been fully exposed this summer. Never seen as many Spurs fans seeing them exactly for what they are capable of.

The only reason I think Savinho could be likely is if our offer doubles what they paid for him, which apparently it does? and if the player himself wants away and is happy to come to The Lane, which apparently he does?

If the above is correct, then why would City want to keep a player that they will only play occasionally and who doesn't want to be there?

The Athletic is reliable, though I'm surprised either he or Woolwich would want this being out there.

I said on Wednesday evening that I was getting Diaz vibes from this and now I feel vindicated. I do not want to defend Levy, but I genuinely think there are mitigating circumstances with both the MGW and Eze transfers that go beyond what would usually be expected.

As for Eze - if he was keen on coming here then I think most/all of us would have put his gooner nature to one side. However, the way this has panned out I cannot wait for him to get dog's abuse from our fans and hope Pahinha does something to give him a nice holiday mid-season.

Being zen, it might be for the best. He was going to be a big big outlay in terms of fee and wages for a player that would ultimately have no resale value (assuming he spent 4 or more years here). I also don't think he was the perfect fit for us despite being a very good player.

Thomas Frank is very very considered/polite in interviews and press conferences but his mentioning of not wanting players that didn't want to come in and play for this club tells you all you need to know about this one.

Don't really hold him responsible for MGW at all he paid what was needed, but as said before it's clear as day the agent and MGW himself did something they wasn't supposed with that clause. Hence him staying as I imagine the other option was being sued.

Eze with what's come out I'm glad we didn't get him he didn't wanna come here and him showing his arse to the scum shows that. But still Eze could have been done if we had paid the money being asked earlier but then all this coming out about him begging the scum to sign him whilst being our player wouldn't have been a good look.

Bottom line is whatever has happened we had had a while to get CAM a LW and LB in and we are 2 games into the season and missed out on a trophy and we are without them. Thankfully Frank and the squad have pulled through so far but when the games stack up, if we are still short it won't be pretty

A football fan talking about it's better not signing a player at his peak because he has no resale value? fuck man you've been Levy'd hard

It's not about whether he could be a good signing or not, it's about us failing to sign our preferred targets, and thus not backing the manager properly.

If El Khannoush was such a good player, why haven't we signed him already? It's because we don't think he's that good, and there are better options out there. We are trying to negotiate a complicated deal for Paz over a straight forward deal with Leicester for BEK. We wanted MGW, Eze and Xavi Simons, failed to get all of them. All have stayed or are moving to our rivals. And we are left taking punts on championship kids which all our rivals deem to be inferior.

It says it all.

It's just not acceptable. Is this what we moved into the new stadium for? to take punts on championship kids when we some how scrape our way into the CL?

Kudus and Palinha is not even the bare minimum, getting BEK as our main number 10 to replace Maddison is laughable.

Watch, we will sign BEK, the fans will realise he's miles off the level we need and the raging from the fans will continue.

AT this stage, signing Savinho and BEK is honestly the bare minimum we should get, and I bet we don't even sign Savinho.

It'll be BEK at most and then a CB like Collins or some other no mark on loan.
MGW is not our fault.

Eze is a gooner who would have sold his left nut to go there… and went there.

That’s not our fault. It’s bitterly disappointing but they were both worth trying for. And we were very close on both deals.

Either you want us to show ambition or you don’t. If we show ambition then we will be going for players that are harder to get.

All that matters in the end is that we improve the squad. We need more in. Hopefully we can manage that.

Let’s be honest even if they do pull a couple of rabbits out of the hat , they are not our preferred targets and because of history us sceptics will feel it’s fudge and a scramble .

It’s the boy who cried wolf. Our transfer strategy has been so poor for so long why would we believe after so many clusterfucks this wasn’t another last minute Lucy deal

The problem is mate, we continually go for these bigger signings and always fail to get them in.

So even if MGW wasn't our fault, and Eze was a gooner, it's happened dozens of times before under Levy.

It's about delivering on these signings like all the other top clubs do. Why is it we always fail? Is it because Levy doesn't pay the wages or transfer fee which is needed? hmm I think so.

Savinho is there to be bought, so is Paz. If it was Woolwich, or Chelsea or Liverpool, they would do the deal.

With Levy, "we have a finite budget so we can't over pay, so we will go for lesser options instead".

It's why we always fall short on the pitch. The most gutting thing of all this is I know Frank could do magical things here if given the tools. But he won't be....

Maybe we’re not as attractive as you think we are?

But these clubs fail to do deals all the time.

Isak is a deal to be done. Have Liverpool just got it done?

Woolwich failed to get Gyokeres and Zubimendi last summer and had to wait 12 months to get them done.

Chelsea have failed to get Xavi Simons done despite him wanting to come all summer.

If you only compare our failures with other teams successes then of course it will look a certain way. But if you look at everything then the differences are not so great.

You just live and breathe every online windup merchant so end up on this rollercoaster for our transfers that really isn’t necessary.
