Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We don't.... That's why it's urgent, FFS.
We have quite a few players who are worthless and just biding their time before they leave for free. Gil, Solomon, Bissouma to name a few.

Signing some random attacking midfielder for 35 mil because we’re desperate just bloats the squad even further. We shouldn’t sign option 13 because the first 12 said no. Thats how we get into these positions where we’re just loaning players until they finish out their contract which further limits our ability to make moves in the future.

Sounds like Como are using our bid as leverage against Madrid.

Como told Madrid that if they don't negotiate their buy-back clause, then they would sell Paz to us.

Either way, sounds dead to me.
although spurs9 this is plausible. It depends if Real Madrid want him. If they do, they will negotiate with Como. If they’re not bothered then they’ll take the 50%.

I would sign Hincapie.

I don't trust Van De Ven and Udogie to stay fit.

We can revisit the number 10 position next Summer.

I like how Frank is playing a much more conservative and sensible defensive style than Ange did, and VdV appears to be benefiting immediately, but I really hope to not see too many consecutive games of him starting. See if he can stay healthy first before we consider starting him every game just yet.

He's not a pure #10, but if Amorim sees no place for Mainoo in his system, I'd be seeing if that's something that's possible as an "opportunity signing". No idea what his wages are and he's probably not wiling to give up on playing for Man Utd. But that's a player who 12 months ago was the future of english football and he cant get a kick.
capalogy has Mainoo listed at £25,000 per week or £1.3m annually

You are probably right, but I was thinking the opposite, they would tell RM "we won't sell him even for 70m, so you might as well take our 20m for the other 50%".

I would have thought RM would love to make a quick 35m, they already have a couple of young players there ahead of him, so wouldn't have though selling him to us would be much of a threat.

I might have misread the tweet. Specifically the bit about maintaining the buyback at a higher amount.

What I meant was that Real Madrid would not keep the buyback clause were Paz to be sold to us.

If that’s not what it suggests, then why would Real Madrid agree to any negotiations with Como? It’s clear what Como would gain but unclear what Real Madrid would get out of any renegotiation…
The tweet is suggesting Como want to buy RM's 50% resale fee and increase RM's but back fee.

As to why RM would agree, a bird in the hand is worth more than 2 in the bush.

I would have thought they wouldn't negotiate if they wanted him and would only negotiate if they aren't bothered.

If they want him, they can get him for 10m next year. If they don't want him, it might be worth getting 20m now, because who knows what could happen inthe future.

If they don’t negotiate, then Como can sell to us this year. Como take the 50% which is greater than the 10m they would get next year.

The way to get Como to keep him is to negotiate.

Anyway, this one big hypothetical based on tenuous information.

Are you saying they don't have a fantastic depth in attack? Come on now that's just silly. Put the Spurs bias down.

Of course they aren't all world class, no club has that. But they have really good depth, none of them are terrible. Ok maybe Jesus.

Yea that’s exactly what I’m saying.

Take the gooner tinted goggles off.
