Didn't he say we made a bid and the Como president said we didn't?
Yeah but I think people are misunderstanding a little bit. We were in talks and made an offer, but not a formal bid.
Obviously we'd only usually make a formal bid when we have a broad agreement, but the player decided to stay at Como so it never got that far.
So the Como director is technically correct when he says no bid recieved, even though we were in talks and made an offer.
He isn't going to come out and say "yes we were in talks with Spurs", it's just unprofessional and there's no need for him to name drop us like that.
