Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Just saw palace sign pino within a few hours im sure its a curse for us signing players we take bloody ages doing em

We are fcuking pathetic if the truth is told. Now it could simply be the intricacy of negotiation but we appear to take the longest to decide, to agree a fee and then to announce a deal.

Nothing about this window shows us in a good light. Nothing.

Levy should take a long vacation and really analyse what has gone on, much of which he is part of.

His statement on the title and our shallow attempts at improving the squad do not deserve the 6 points from the 6 available.

Did Frank say that or was it more that Richy has the spot now (been given the chance and is doing well) and Solanke has to earn his place back?

Pretty much.

Thomas Frank on Richarlison: "Right now, he is my starting nine. He scored two fantastic goals. He had two top games, he's Brazilian number nine. He's a very good player, I'm very happy with him."

Context being Solanke has missed a chunk of pre-season and his condition is behind the pack.

It's not so much that.We had a good start with Kudus and then Palhina then we floundered and are now scrambling round for this years Saha and the NZ bloke

Doubt he'll get any meaningful minutes this season, not really ready but both him and Byfield should make the CL bench a few times this season to encourage them to sign pro-deals when they turn 17.

You think he at least makes his debut in a cup or late season dead rubber?

His first touch and tbh the second and third touch are always so clean. He clearly watched a lot of Luka Modric and maybe some James Maddison more recently

It's just clicked what the plan is.

Wait until squads are announced for international break then go for those who missed out so we don't lose them for 10 days and they can train with us ready for the restart.

5.. D...Chess.

Take that all off you doubters!!

He's obviously not going to say I'm not considering Solanke as the striker. But an on form Richy is the better player, clearly. And Frank sees that, infact, a blind man can see that.

It's a gauntlet down for Richy to keep performing. I think a #9 should be a priority next summer as both aren't elite, or close to that, but Dom God love him, nice lad, midtable calibre starting player.

Excuse my ignorance but how do they make money out of posting untruths on Twitter/X?

The more engagement and impressions you get the more you get rewarded as a content creator, essentially if you're keeping eyes on the platform and constantly churning out the algorithms then X rewards you - you get more offers from brands to sell ads on your posts for example and you get money for ad revenue sharing and more features that X provide allowing you to earn higher revenue.

So if you're a journo with a brand who knows that they can have a fanbase on complete strings by saying something non-committal and so vague which keeps the fans guessing and dreaming (if it's positive) and angry (if it's negative) then you'll always win. You don't need to be completely truthful because it doesn't pay and if you're wrong people forget about it anyway.

Romano apparently earns around £70k per month average annually on X and that's all because of the impressions he gets and the engagement for example, he's got a team of people working for him so all they're doing is churning out tweet after tweet and updates of the same thing every day because the platform is rewarding him with money.

Up until Richys recent short run of performances i would have said that Solanke was far superior wrt the basics of playing football and much more consistent with his performances with Richy being a bit erratic and having poor control/first touch/unable to stay on his feet - if he can maintain his current level then he will be worth a starting place I'm sure, if not that means Solanke is playing better so win=win as i don't think Frank is the type to play favourites

It's becoming blatantly obvious that teams across Europe would rather deal with anyone else but Levy, it's almost like he has been blacklisted and would not be surprised if this is actually true. Yrs of being deliberately awkward, moving goal posts at the last minute and dithering over deals have come back to haunt us. It's either that or not paying the wages , but this has been an utter disaster of a window, missed two sitters in Eze & MGW and with days left the squad is at least 3 players short of the minimum required.
By God he better not make it worse by signing dross like Sancho or Rabiot.

The end of this window reeks of what we have all seen before, total disorganisation and planning leading to chaos, with the imaginary wheelbarrow being ferried around Europe trying to fulfill imaginary impossible transfers, followed by the usual we tried but decided to keep our powder dry until January tripe. Get to fuck out and let someone who knows what the are doing run the football side of the club.

Tbf an In form Richie is one of the best strikers in the league! Solanke isn't at that level at all. Problem is Richie is rarely in form and has a much lower floor than Solanke. When he stinks he stinks and he usually misses half the season with injuries. Solanke is far more reliable.

Right now Richie is 100% ahead of Solanke bit I'd be shocked if it stayed like that for the entire season
